- Early December. That's the latest word I've received.
- As Josh said, if I'm expecting service and the employees are dancing and singing, that would make mad. It's the same in restaurants when the employees start singing to someone. Get your ass back in the kitchen and bring me my sammich. To be fair, though, I doubt Microsoft mandated that all their employees put on little pageants. Likely, the manager of this particular store is some kind of dork who thinks this is good for business, and forced everyone to do it.
- RE: Is 8GB enough for the iPhone 3G? [Appletell]Music's not problem, but movies would hog that 8GB pretty quickly. Unless you want to keep shuffling movies on off, I'd look into at least getting a 16GB.
- RE: Is there an iPhone app update bug? [Appletell]What are the specific apps with which this is happening? I'm wondering if the developers have done something wrong with how updates are handled.
- RE: Gamertell Review: Ju-On: The Grudge for Wii [Gamertell]Some of the jump scares are good, Jessica. The controller shakes, however, will mostly be out of control frustration, not scares.
- RE: Gamertell Review: Ju-On: The Grudge for Wii [Gamertell]Edited out in the final cut to shorten my rant, but you're right. Oh no! Bees! I'm supposed to scared of bees when there's a creepy-haired dead girl croaking in my face?
- Feral doesn't release bad ports. They won't give me an official statement, but chances are good that the cause for the delay is because they're waiting until they can release a great product. Better they push the release back and deliver a solid port than shove a buggy program out the door too early just to get the money faster.
- Now watch your language Michu. We've got kids reading this forum. An online battle tournament's not a bad idea. I'll look into getting that organized...keep checking this forum as Feral (hopefully) nears release.
- Without jailbreaking your iPhone or iPod touch, iTunes is the only way to go for getting apps.
- Battery life is supposed to be around three months. I'd prefer a wired option, actually.
- RE: iPhone OS 3.1.2 available now [Gadgetell]This is supposed to fix the problem where the iPhone couldn't make or receive calls, text or e-mails from time to time without a reboot. It seemed to be a 3G issue, as switching that off and going with Edge would fix the problem, albeit not in a satisfactory way. Since I've updated and switched 3G back on, things have been fine, but we'll see if it lasts.
- So it doesn't cannibalize iPhone sales.
- Yes, this prize has been awarded. Stick around, though. More to come.
- RE: Snow Leopard as we go; disk space [Appletell]That explains it, then. Thanks guys. As mentioned, I guessed that the "Used" number was my actual Snow Leopard savings, but it's good to get an official explanation on the Capacity.
- Contest is over.
- I'm surprised you had this much trouble, Carolyn. I didn't try any FileMaker imports with Bento, but in sticking with their templates, the files I set up printed just fine. I will alert my PR contact at FileMaker about your post.
- RE: Hardcore Wii Franchise #5: Fire Emblem [Gamertell]True enough. Also, any gold coins you have left over from Path of Radiance get carried over to Radiant Dawn.
- I haven't yet heard anything official, but I haven't contacted them in a while. I'll see if I can get an update.
- T.J. better just get used to this. He plays for Seattle now, meaning he's going to be largely ignored and dissed by pretty much everyone for the rest of his career. That's just what happens when you play football on the west coast. As a diehard Seahawks fan, though, I'd sure love to see him work hard this year to increase that ranking instead of whining about it like some of our previous players would have.
- When I was a "kid people," I don't remember school ever stopping me from playing a game.
- That's what you get for playing too much Coldplay.
- I can't imagine anyone would buy an "iTablet" to read books on it. The Kindle has one purpose. An iTablet will have many. It's like the iPhone vs. DS/PSP debate. People will not buy an iPhone to play games, but if they get it for other reasons, it's possible the gaming options on there will be enough to prevent them from also buying a DS or PSP.
- RE: iPhone 3.0 update issues [Appletell]See the disclaimer on Apple's website under the MMS description: "MMS support from AT&T coming in late summer."
- RE: iPhone 3.0 update issues [Appletell]Are you in the U.S.? MMS isn't supported yet by AT&T, so you'll have to wait on that feature. http://www.appletell.com/apple/comment/atts-mms-option-priced-surprisingly-free/
- Sports Illustrated is lying to us. That is sooooooooo not a swimsuit.
- From Prime31's website: "UPDATE: There is a problem on Appleās end with Feeds in the App Store. We spoke to them a few hours ago and they are hopefully working on the problem. They could not provide an ETA for us as to when Feeds will be available in the App Store again."
- Fair enough, George.
- Fixed, George. Too early to be posting article, I guess. And I agree with you on the camera. Remember this isn't OUR assumption and picture. The photo is posted as shown at Uxsight, where they have it listed under an iPod touch 3rd Gen category, and they where they specifically point out, "Has a hole for a camera on the back." But it's not upside down. The headphone jack opening is properly placed on the bottom, and the volume buttons can be clearly seen on the upper left where they should be.
- I think it's more of a "Okay, now will you just shut up about it?" kind of thing. iPhone critics have been using it against the iPhone from the start, and Apple just wants them to know it's no longer true.
- Yeah, I noticed after I posted my edit that other 17+ apps were still in the store, so it apparently wasn't a content issue.
- RE: iPhone 3.0 update issues [Appletell]Best we can suggest is to just do what it says...try again later. Annoying, yeah, but you will eventually get through. You've completed the update, but can't get into iTunes to reactivate your phone with the software.
- RE: Appletell reviews TextExpander for Mac OS X [Appletell]Thanks, Scott.
- RE: iPhone 3.0 update issues [Appletell]Man, Chris. I've updated three phones now with no problem. What time of day are you doing it?
- RE: iPhone 3.0 update issues [Appletell]Glad to hear it, Martin. I'm updating now. I guess it pays to wait a while to avoid this kind of thing...or do it right away!
- RE: iPhone 3.0 update issues [Appletell]It's possible iTunes is unable to reactivate your phone due to the iTunes server being down. Hopefully, waiting a bit will solve the issue, but I'll see what else we can turn up.
- RE: iPhone 3.0 update issues [Appletell]I imagine their server is taking quite a hit right now. I haven't tried yet, but will report back if it's still an issue when I finally get to my MacBook.
- I'm afraid I can't help you, as I haven't used that particular product. There site does have an installation video, but I can't get it to play in Safari. Perhaps that video also talks about how to remove it? Worth looking into.
- Which case do you have, Susan? The Haptique or the Satin?
- Yes, the winner has been selected and notified. Sorry we didn't announce that formally. Be sure to join us for our WWDC keynote live blog for your chance to win some other great prizes.
