- Bob- Even if that is true, the "safe" installer still allows for research on the Digsby client, and Digsby announcements which are sort of like ads. One thing I forgot to mention in my post is another way Digsby tries to make money. There is an option to display the songs you are listening to within your status. They also give a link of that song on Amazon's music store I believe. Just another way Digsby inputs ads and tries to make a quick buck.
- Hey Benji, Well I don't actually even own an iPhone, I'm merely speculating on the situation with AT&T. I'm pretty indifferent to the whole situation. But I do think some iPhone owners agree with me.
- VitaminCM- Be sure to let us know what you thought of MLB.TV when you try it out!
- Elizabeth, Valid point. But I feel at some point Microsoft has to say enough is enough and go with their new ideas. If they keep sticking with their 8 year old XP, it shows that they are not able to create a newer, more modern OS. Personally, I am glad XP's still going to be around but Microsoft has to be prepared to take the next step with Windows 7.
- RE: The future of technology and MP3 players [Gadgetell]Geek Girl, I see where you are coming from, and I did not mean to insult anyone of any age. I see a lot of young kids these days that can text better than I can, and then I look at my parents and grandparents and they can't work their electronics nearly as well. If a child has no desire to learn how to work a piece of technology then they will not even bother with it and get discouraged, while an adult will mess up a few times but work hard and finally understand it. That's also a valid point. However, if you think about a few DTV transition commercials, they often portrayed an old woman not being able to work a television set due to the DTV transition. In today's society we often portray older people as not being able to work with technology as well as others. That is just a stereotype and not always the truth. I wrote this post mainly to show that companies are being open-minded and willing to create devices that fit the needs of older people. Hope this clears some things up.
- Anonymous- While I do not know this firsthand, the site I sourced stated, "Bonuses Paid To Managers That Violate “Price Match” Policy, Former Employees Allege." And even respectable tech sites such as Gizmodo claims, "according to internal docs, personnel are trained to deny price-matches and even paid bonuses for shutting them down." And you are right, they are not paid for not honoring price matches, they are paid bonuses when they deny a legit price match.
- Since it is Google, I think developers will be more than happy to design an app for Android and make some money. Whether it will grow into something as big as the App store remains to be seen. I like what the Pre has to offer, I can't wait for it to come out and see how it is received by the public.
- Hey Mike, the deal has expired on buy.com. Sorry!
- Samir, I agree. I'm sure Reynoso is taking the appropriate measures to bring justice to whomever involved. Personally, I believe this involves more Belkin personnel than just Bayard. Doug, You bring up a great point. I'm sure there are many other companies that do things like this but they probably cover their tracks a lot better than Bayard and Belkin over here. That would make a great post if you decide to do something like this.
- Hey Andrew- I took a look at the website before I wrote that article and actually you can submit your own videos and if they are published you will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Certificate. The videos you submit are looked over by website employees, so I'm not sure how picky they are. Here's the link if you want to check it out for yourself: http://www.learnandsave.com/GetPaid.aspx
- RE: Orby: iPhone for the house? [Gadgetell]Hey David, Thanks a lot for checking out the site and providing us with the extra details!
- RE: Office clone? Gmail adds Tasks [Gadgetell]I love this feature, I've always wanted a way to write in little reminders for myself within my email account. I find Tasks more effective than using the calender.
- Hi Dave, I see what you mean and, yes, they can definitely be used without a music device. In fact, when you put them on, without the noise canceling feature active, it is already blocking some noise. When you put the noise canceling on, it blocks a lot more noise, but keep in mind, it will be wasting battery. You might not want to fall asleep with them on. Hope this helps.
- Sean, I think you should be alright. You will probably receive your G1 around October 22.
- RE: Millions calling for Facebook boycott [Gadgetell]I've been using Facebook for about two years now and I use it all the time to stay in touch with friends. I really liked the old design and at first I hated the new design. However, I didn't join any of these groups because I believe if the creator, Mark Zuckerberg, was going to change it back, he would have done so already. Rather than complaining about it, I have grown to accept it. So to answer your question, there are a bunch of people who like it, but a lot who don't. I think it will take a good amount of time before the new design wins over the majority of the Facebook users.
- Hey John- While I can't answer your question with certainty, I do believe that you, your girlfriend, and your aunt should receive the G1. I think T-Mobile running out of G1's would only effect people ordering them now. However, they have announced that they have some left in stock, so I'm not sure when that will end. Mick- I'm pretty sure you will be able to buy one by October 12. By then, T-Mobile should have plenty in stock.
- RE: This week's Who's on Crack game [Gadgetell]Nice article JG, I totally agree with the T-Mobile part of your article.
- I agree. All carriers should offer similar month-to-month contracts. Also, you're right about many people thinking that contracts are the only option, hopefully people realize that some carriers have more flexible contracts.
- Walt- I agree, but I guess people wouldn't want to go through all of the hassle of having to uninstall every single program when they get it, but 50 dollars is 50 dollars. -Natesh Sood
- MacBandit- I agree, a phone with the best reception, call quality, and audio quality is all I really want/need in a phone as well. However, that's not really possible to have cell phone quality like a land line phone. That being said, all phones nowadays should come with a camera of some sort. -Natesh Sood
- Some Guy- The phone certainly looks different, but I think it looks pretty cool. What don't you like about it?
- Kevin- I don't have a Zune so I can't really help you there, but my suggestion would be to check out Zune forums to see if they can offer any help.
- RE: Gadgetell Review: Insignia Pilot MP3 Player [Gadgetell]Eric- I agree 100%, the two headphone slots are great and if you have the Bluetooth headphones it is possible to have 3 people listen at once. I don't like the Rhapsody too much, but you're right, it still works well.
- Fire Town Costa Rica- In the post it says "The Solio Magnesium will be available beginning in February 2008 at www.solio.com for $199.95." Have you already checked out the website? I think they should be available there already. Hope this helps. Natesh Sood
- Marten- Be sure to let us know what you think of it! -Natesh Sood Contributor | Gadgetell
- RE: Gadgetell Review: Insignia Pilot MP3 Player [Gadgetell]@ Josh I agree with you that it would have been more fair for the Insignia Pilot player to be compared to the Nano. However, I own the iPod Video so I couldn't really compare it as well to the Nano. Otherwise, I'm glad you like it, I like it too. Also, make sure you try out the video on it soon, it works very well.
