Motorola makes the Motozine ZN5 official

by Arnold Zafra on Jun 23, 2008 at 08:18 AM

Motorola Motozine ZN5

So, that new Motorola phone touting a 5-megapixel Kodak camera that we told you about not so long ago is actually true. Motorola has officially announced the new phone as the MOTOZINE ZN5, or more simply the ZINE ZN5. And like we told you before, this phone would feature a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus, a Xenon flash, and some settings that would make it a good camera when shooting in low-light environment.

And since the ZINE ZN5 will have a Kodak camera, it goes without saying that it would have direct link to the Kodak online image gallery for viewing, storing and sharing with friends and family. In addition, it would also come with Kodak Easyshare Software to help users organize, edit, share, store and find photos on their PC’s.

Motorola handset lineup for 2008 leaked, doesn’t impress

by David Gonzales on Apr 19, 2008 at 01:03 PM

Motorola handset lineup for China in 2008

You may have heard that Motorola is quietly readying a few new handsets for a comeback in the mobile handset making game, like the 5-megapixel packing Motorola ZN5 Zine and the Motoming A1600 smartphone. While both of these handsets aren’t exactly packing high-end tech behind their casings, we were still hoping that Motorola would roll out a few more handsets including one that would be worthy of being called its flagship. Well, our wait ends today as detailed specs and information are revealed about Moto’s upcoming phones for 2008. And they’re not all bad, but considering the things that other handset makers have been releasing quite recently, it seems that Moto is really lagging behind the rest of the group, only readying a few, so-so mobile handsets and their flagship model has turned out to be that 5-MP Linux-based smartphone after all. Something that Nokia, SE, Samsung, and even Apple have been able to equal and even surpass in terms of functionality last year, if not a couple of years ago.

The truth about Motorola’s new 5-megapixel Kodak cameraphone

by David Gonzales on Mar 23, 2008 at 12:16 PM

Motorola ZINE ZN5 5 megapixel Kodak cameraphone

Not much is known about Motorola’s upcoming Motorola ZN5 except that it’s supposed to be a 5-megapixel Kodak camera-equipped candy bar handset with a Montavista Linux 2.6.1 OS. Unwired View is reporting about a few additional, if a bit disappointing features including 2.5G GSM/GPRS connectivity, 320×240 QVGA display, so-so multimedia capability (Mpeg4 playback) and a bulky camera mechanism. But Motorola has been mum on the issue so far and even that leaked video showing the upcoming Moto phones has been taken down. So right now, the details about this phone are really scarce. Now I’ll be honest with you, I’m curious about this new Motorola phone and all the others because I still believe Motorola can do a comeback even after scoring second to the last in a recently conducted survey of user satisfaction, and not to mention the dismal sales of their then precious Motorola RAZR2 V8. So I did a little digging and well, I found what I was looking for. Not rumors, but official specs of the Motorola ZN5 supplied by the manufacturer’s web site itself.

Leaked image, details: Motorola ZiNe Z12

by Indraneel Purohit on Feb 6, 2008 at 01:42 PM

Leaked Images Motorola ZiNe Z12

Is this the Motorola Z12? While the phones on the far left and in the center are the Z8 and Z10, the device to the far right may well be the new ZiNe Z12. The rumored Motofone is said to have built in GPS and Wi-Fi, as well as a 5 or 8-megapixel camera. Also supposedly in the package is a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen, which seems to be pictured above.

The Z12 also incorporates a sliding form factor, with the screen sliding up to reveal a regular keypad. As a whole, the Z12 is a PDA-centric device, though in the picture above it’s running Motorola’s own software. Stay tuned, readers; more info as it happens.
