AT&T adds the Sony Ericsson W350 Walkman to its lineup

by Robert Nelson on Aug 20, 2008 at 06:43 PM

AT&T adds the Sony Ericsson W350 Walkman to its lineup

With little fanfare AT&T has added the Sony Ericsson W350 Walkman to its current lineup. The W350 offers what they call an “innovative matchbook flip design” that folds down to reveal the numeric keypad, while the music controls are on the outside for easier access. Other features include a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot, 1.3-megapixel camera with zoom, FM radio and of course the Walkman 2.0 Music Player.

The Sony Ericsson W350 is available beginning today in your choice of Ice Blue, Electric Black or Graphic White. The W350 is free after a $50 mail-in-rebate but it comes along with the standard two-year agreement.

Sony accidentally leaks out some new budget-friendly Walkman players

by Arnold Zafra on Aug 18, 2008 at 08:05 AM

Sony Walkman NWZ-E430

So, what do we have here? Sony New Zealand has started showing some new models of Walkman players on their site. Word on the street say that these new Walkman players donning the model name NWZ-E430 are entry level Walkmans and appear to be a sequel to Sony’s A600 series. But this time, the NWZ-E430 will sport a 2-inch screen and probably up to 8GB of storage.

Perhaps taking a cue from other media players which make it easy for users to load music files onto their media players from their PCs, the NWZ-E430 fully supports drag-and-drop functionality as well as compatibility with a sync software. In addition, said Walkman would also come with an FM tuner, support various music formats to include AAC, MP3 and WMA. It will also be capable of playing MPEG-4 video. Battery time for this new Walkman doesn’t seem to be at par with other music players though, as it can only max out 45 hours of continuous music playing and 9.5 hours of video playback. That would be enough for 3 to 4 full movie watching experience though.

Since, this is all about unofficial leakage, pricing and release date are still unavailable. But we expect this to retail for no more than $200 though, considering that its “supposed” predecessor, the A600 is currently retailing at $100 in the U.S.

Sony Ericsson 5MP W902 Patty

Another series of leaked images of another upcoming handset from Sony Ericsson. The images come courtesy of the Arabic SE4M forums, and not only give a pretty good look at the handset, but they also include a few details about what we can expect.

As typical with leaked images, the pricing and release date have not been mentioned. But we do have enough details to make this something to look forward to. Based on the images we can tell that it will have a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. It is also a Walkman phone, however the images are not showing any headphone jack, and based on previous models, lets just hope that it comes as a standard 3.5mm jack and not an special size.

Sony Ericsson Alicia Walkman; leaked promo video

by Robert Nelson on Jun 13, 2008 at 07:51 AM

After watching this video, we can only hope that “Alicia” will be one of the devices that launches during the upcoming Sony Ericsson event on June 17. The video offers some great insight to this handset, what we previously thought was nothing more than a large circular shaped external music control turns out to be much more exciting, it appears to be a second display. Which means Alicia features two external display screens, and that second display also functions as a shortcut key, which has various functions depending on which application you are using.

Sony Ericsson’s latest leaked device; Alicia, the new Walkman phone

by Robert Nelson on Jun 11, 2008 at 04:30 PM

Sony Ericsson Alicia Walkman phone

Details are very limited, this is certainly not as nice as the C905 leak that we offered you this morning, however this clamshell Walkman phone is going by the codename Alicia and seems to have a stylish look.

Basically what we have here, is just what we can tell from those images. The front offers up a large external music control. Not too mention the brushed metal interior framing the keypad, which seems offer up yet more music controls. The handset is also expected to feature a display that will change themes depending on time of day, as well as showing the current weather.

We also know that Sony Ericsson has a big announcement in the works for June 17, this could possibly be included in the event. Keep reading for a few more pics of Alicia…

Sony Ericsson’s Paris; the leaked details continue

by Robert Nelson on May 27, 2008 at 09:04 AM

While the latest round of details to surface for the Paris are not exactly as flattering as the rest, this should still prove to be a worthy handset. The new details that have come to light reveal a solid offering coming from SE. The P5 is a slider style phone with a QWERTY keyboard and will be UIQ based.

The handset also offers a touch sensitive display with one-touch screen rotation, the ability to browse or view bookmarks without sliding the handset open and one-touch zoom in/out navigation.

The Samsung based camera with auto-focus comes in at a nice 5-megapixels, and we can also expect to find Wi-Fi, an FM radio and standard Walkman player. The included GPS will default to Google Maps, however WayFinder 7 will also be installed as a trial option. Finally there will be support for Microsoft Office documents.

We also now know that the Paris is expected to retail for 400 Euros and is rumored to include UIQ 3.3 and Opera 9.5 at the time it ships. As of now it is expected to be available in early September.

The Walkman returns to glory with the Sony NWZ-A829

by Adam Berger on Apr 11, 2008 at 08:01 AM

Back in February Sony announced two new Walkman MP3 players, the A820 and A829 (yes, horrendous names). These are 8 and 16 GB versions of Sony’s flash memory, iPod nano competitors. At first glance, the big shocker is the inclusion of Bluetooth audio on the A829—no more strangulation by your headphone—but the models have much more to offer than that.

Set for release in Japan sometime during the last week of April, the two Sony Blu-ray recorders will retail for around $1,600. As always, it would take some time before these two BD recorders reach the US market.
