Verizon’s rumored 2008 phone introductions

by Robert Nelson on Feb 7, 2008 at 01:23 PM

We all saw the white Touch, and it looks like Verizon customers should be able to get the XV6900 in their hands as early as late-February or early-March. While that alone is reason to get excited, the lineup does not stop there. The Samsung U940 is expected in Q1, with a possible launch in March. The U940 will be followed up by the Motorola W755, that is expected to be available during the spring. Then lastly a follow up to the V710 is expected to hit in the late spring, the new handset will be the Motorola V750 which is also being called the Utopia. Unfortunately there are not many details yet on the Utopia. Looks like a good year phone wise for Verizon customers.

Correction: Updated VX6900 to XV6900.  Sorry for the confusion.

Is the HTC Touch headed to Verizon?

Verizon Branded HTC Touch in White (front)

A post over on HowardForums has some pretty legit looking pics of the HTC Touch with a Verizon logo on the front. As usual the shots are not a super-high quality but they seem to be the real deal.

According to the poster we can expect the Touch, which will be the XV6900 on Verizon as early as March, which should be both good news to Verizon customers and also bad news to Sprint. The XV6900 is also noted as being a little thinner than the Sprint version and will be available only in white. The rest of the specs are still a mystery but its safe to assume that we will be seeing the standards to include a 2-megapixel camera, microSD storage and running Windows Mobile 6.

Hopefully these pics are the real deal! Click through for a few more pics…
