Griffin lets you bring your iPod with you
Griffin is now selling a kit that offers you no more excuses why you are the only one without white earphones when traveling abroad. The PowerBlock is a outlet to USB charger designed for iPods, cellphones, or other USB powered devices.
PowerBlock’s flat-blade, non-polarized prongs impose no limitations on how they fit into twin-prong outlets—and are ideal for international use. The travel package adds adapters that, cover most any AC connection you’ll encounter in your world explorations. PowerBlock handles all voltages from 100 to 240 AC, converting to the voltage that your USB devices need.
The PowerBlock Travel package ($34.99) includes a Griffin dock connector cable for your iPod as well as an accessory pouch to help you keep track of your adapters. PowerBlock Travel won’t do away with all the hassles of traveling; you’ll still have to keep track of your luggage, and how many Yen are in a Euro (or vice versa)… but with PowerBlock Travel in your travel kit, you will never have to worry about how to charge your iPod and other USB devices.

Peep Show: Plantronics releases five new Bluetooth headsets with style, in-style
Plantronics held a savvy press event in New York last week. I was lucky enough to snag a ticket, drink some drinks, snap some pics, try on some new headsets, and got a few models back here in the lab for an upcoming Gadgetell review. Until then, enjoy these shots of the event and some commentary on the new headsets that will be hitting electronic and wireless stores in the near future.
In the end, all I have to say is that I had no idea that designing a headset was more than an art and some tech but a biological science--Plantronics has earned an A in my book.
The Plantronics Pulsar 590E Bluetooth Stereo Headset delivers stereo wireless freedom. Seamlessly switch between your phone conversations and your music so you’ll never miss a call. The cushioned earpieces provide comfort and the foldable headset design makes the headset portable. A retractable voice tube and omni-directional microphone allow for clearer calls. With up to 12 hours of talk time and 10 hours of listen time, you can enjoy hours of wireless listening on your stereo Bluetooth enabled mobile phone.
The Plantronics Discovery 655 Bluetooth headset is their top of the line unit that fuses technology with a sleek, ultra-light design. With Digital Signal Processing (DSP), the Plantronics Discovery 655 reduces noise levels to provide enhanced sound for clear conversations. It weighs only 9 grams, provides up to 10 hours of talk time, comes with an innovative AAA charging pocket (boosting 30 more hours), a vibrating docking station, an USB charger attachment, 3 ear gel sizes, and an ear hook that is so unnecessary because the headset is already so comfortable. It will sell for $149.99.
Based on the Plantronics Discovery 640 Bluetooth headset, the Discovery 640E lets you stay connected with great comfort and convenience and a similar charging system to the 655. With multipoint technology, you can seamlessly switch between two Bluetooth audio devices making moving from your home, to the car, to the office extremely easy. It will sell for $119.99.
The Plantronics Explorer 330 is a affordable, lightweight headset that offers Bluetooth technology for a hands-free ticket free driving experience. The Explorer 330 headset incorporates all call features—volume, answer/end call, last-number redial, and voice-activated dialing—into one button, like its predecessor. Delivering up to eight hours of talk time, the Explorer 330 will sell for $79.99.
The Plantronics Explorer 350 is almost identical to the 340 but comes with convenient in-car accessories for charging and stowing, the Explorer 350 lets you keep your headset handy and charged while you are on the go. and in one place so you don’t have to fuss around while you are driving.
