Rumored HTC Touch Opal officially unveiled as the HTC Viva
HTC has announced the successor to the HTC Touch, and although the recently rumored HTC Opal was pretty close on specs and design, the handset has officially been dubbed the HTC Viva.
Overall the Viva is a decent handset, that according to HTC will be affordable, of course a price has not yet been announced, so time will tell just how accurate that statement will prove to be. Otherwise the HTC Viva will feature HTC’s TouchFLO and be running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.
HTC Opal rumored to replace the current HTC Touch?
Still nothing official coming from the HTC camp, but it looks like the replacement to the Touch has been determined and it has been dubbed the HTC Opal. With the details coming from what is mentioned to be a leaked PDF from HTC, the Opal is stated to be running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional along with the latest TouchFLO 3D interface.
So far, it sounds pretty good, but the specs are not all that impressive considering this is rumored to be a follow-up device. According to the leaked PDF, the Opal is expected to feature a 2.8-inch 240 x 320 QVGA display, 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 and a microSD card slot. Additionally it will also offer 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM and be powered by a 200MHz TI OMAP 850 processor.
Keep in mind that this PDF is dated July 3, which means that its about two months old now and that these are not official or final. Which means that these specs could be changed in the final version, if they have not seen a few improvements already. As you would expect nothing has been mentioned about availability or pricing.

HTC intro’s the P3470: An affordable touchscreen based phone with GPS
HTC has introduced the P3470, which according to HTC “sets a new standard in affordable smartphone, GPS-based devices.” Overall it seems like the P3470 will offer a decent set of specs along with being a nice looking phone, much better than that spy shot image we first saw back in January. The HTC P3470 features a 2.8-inch QVGA display, 200MHz CPU, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD card slot and a built-in GPS with TomTom Navigator 6.
HTC Pharos: Specs, first pics?
It seems that this would be one of the first images of the upcoming HTC 3470 Pharos. Granted, like many first, spy shot type images the clarity is not the best, but still good enough to give a good understanding of just what the Pharos will look like.
The Pharos will be running Windows Mobile 6 with HTC’s TouchFlo interface. It will feature a 2.8-inch QVGA display, Texas Instrument OMAP 200Mhz CPU processor, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, Bluetooth, integrated-GPS and a 2-megapixel camera.
Sadly the Pharos is said to not include Wi-Fi, hopefully that will change before the final release. No word yet on any release date or pricing information.
