Intel LogoAre you tired of constantly getting your legs burned by your laptop? In a few years, that problem may be eliminated with the help of Intel. Under a recently filed patent, Intel plans to use “light to sense when a computer casing is getting too hot, and automatically throttles back the power” in order to cool the laptop. Tech geek’s pool thermometer

by Adam Berger on Apr 29, 2006 at 03:04 PM

Sharper Image Pool thermometerThe weather is getting really nice outside and all we are thinking about is hopping in the pool in-between posting stories, all summer long. Yeah, we know, you wish you had our job. But certainly we need to make sure the water is warm enough prior to putting our laptops down. Thankfully this will no longer require effort either. For $69.95 you can get a Sharper Image floating pool thermometer with a large LCD screen and wireless display, accessible up to 100 feet. The indoor receiver displays the water temperature plus room temperature, humidity, min/max temperature readings, high/low temperature alert, and temperature-trend indicators.

Ahhh, the life of a blogger.
