Sprint makes the BlackBerry 8330 Curve available
Anyone holding out for the Sprint-branded 8330 Curve can let out a sigh of relief today as it is now available. The Curve, originally announced back in early April is coming off a delay due to ”additional testing” being required. Well it looks like the testing has been completed to their satisfaction. The 8330 Curve will retail for $179.99, which comes after a $320 instant savings, $100 mail-in-rebate, and of course with a two-year agreement.

AT&T looks set on finally releasing SMT 5700 smartphone
We here at Gadgetell are all for smartphones, and new models, especially the ones that “gotz tha skillz” are never unwelcome. Now we’re hearing that a certain SMT 5700, which has been showing up in various AT&T rebate sheets for quite a while now, could be seeing a launch some time in the near future. We didn’t have the chance to cover the SMT 5700 story when its spy shots leaked on the nets over a year ago, but we’re here this time to lay the smack down on the potential final specs of the thing.
A 2-megapixel camera will be built-in, first and foremost for good measure in this multimedia and cameraphone crazed world, and storage is complemented via microSD cards. But keep in mind this will be a business phone, and even though the first leaked manuals listed Windows Mobile 5.0 as its OS under the hood, it’s likely that they’ll upgrade the thing to WinMo 6.0 when it finally comes through. We’re not sure when this’ll be available for its rumored $99 price, but we’ll be here to update you once the details become available.

Sprint pushes back the BlackBerry Curve Launch till mid-May
While Sprint has already officially announced the BlackBerry Curve back in early-April, which according to the press release had an anticipated release of “later this month.” Well later this month has already passed and now the official word from Sprint is that it will be available sometime in mid-May. Lets hope the date, or at least rough time frame that was given this time holds true. The official reason for delay was that Sprint needed to “conduct additional testing to ensure a high-quality user experience for all functionality of the [phone], including exclusive Sprint services like Sprint TV and Sprint Music Store.” Guess it still had some bugs.

Acer, E-Ten team up to deliver smartphones by year’s end
Acer’s acquisition of Asian smartphone maker E-Ten has put them in a position to start manufacturing their own smartphones very soon. And they will, as confirmed by Acer President Gianfranco Lanci, saying that their company will release its first Windows Mobile powered smartphone by the end of this year or early next year. They’ll be focusing entirely on smartphones now, though, shifting away from E-Ten’s tradition of making PDA’s. And if E-Ten’s previous products are any indication of what this team up will be able to produce in the future, then we’re all in for a lot of suspense. iPhone killer, anyone?

Samsung’s new W599, a dual-SIM, dual-network smartphone
Ever wanted to own a cellphone that can switch between GSM and CDMA bands without any of the fuss? The Samsung Anycall W599 will let you do just that. Because it works with two SIM cards, and two networks running at the same time. Which isn’t new, but still worthy of another shot, especially from one of the leading names in this business.
The Samsung W599 seems to be a follow-up to the Samsung W399 that was released two years ago, with the W599 packing some of the same features and of course, a few new ones. This includes a 2.4-inch stylus-based touchscreen with handwriting recognition, a 2 megapixel camera, 34 MB of internal memory, support for expandable MicroSD cards, and multimedia playback all around.
Sadly, this looks to be an Asia-only release for now, branded with the very un-catchy Anycall moniker, which incidentally is the branding on Samsung’s most recent 5-megapixel camera phone. We do know that it will sell for 4,490 Yuan or about $650 USD though. And like you, hope that this product hits our shores. I don’t know, maybe we just like variety.

Sprint, AT&T could soon get the LG Voyager
We all know that the LG Voyager is currently one of the hottest handset available from Verizon. And if you recall, it was launched on Verizon’s network as an exclusive handset, and so far no other mobile network have been able to offer it as part of their handset plans. Well, that might change soon enough if this statement by an LG official holds true: “We plan to expand the supply of Voyager to AT&T and Sprint within this year. That will lay the strong foundation for LG in the North American market.” This statement was quoted in the Electronic Times, where the electronics manufacturer boasts that sales of its iPhone-contending handset has reached the 1 millionth mark last at the beginning of April. If this happens, LG will have made the right choice by making one of their best handsets available to even more consumers. Maybe it might even match up to the sales of its mortal enemy, the iPhone, once it hits the other networks. Who knows?
Update Our source from over at IntoMobile are claiming that they were contacted by an LG Spokesperson to tell them that the LG Voyager VX10000 was not going to come to Sprint and AT&T, and that it was just a rumor. Apparently, it was just a fake statement thrown around the Interwebs by parties that are currently being tracked down for identification by LG. And the fact is that LG won’t be rolling out the Voyager towards AT&T, Sprint, or any other carrier any time soon. So I guess there won’t be any touchscreen handset bloodshed after all.

E-ten Glofiish M810, M750 to be made available soon
With people like us who stay online most of the time in mind, E-TEN Information Systems will be releasing two almost identical versions of a new WiFi-enabled and touchscreen-equipped Windows Mobile 6 Professional certified smartphone. Called the E-Ten Glofiish (not a typo) M810 and M750, these new smartphones are said to be targeted at bloggers, podcasters, video makers, and chatters, who need as much online time and connectivity options as they can get in order to keep their lives/ businesses running smoothly.
The Glofiish M810 has support for UTMS and HSDPA data connectivity, and will be equipped with a secondary camera that can be used freely in video calls. It will run on a Samsung S3C 2442 500MHz processor, has a quadband antenna, built-in Bluetooth and GPS, a microSD card slot and a miniUSB port. The Glofiish M750, meanwhile, has just about the same features minus the UTMS/HSDPA network support. Meaning, it will still have the same 2 megapixel camera with auto focus, 2.8-inch TFT screen, 256MB ROM / 64MB RAM, and the sliding form factor with a slide-out keyboard. Could these smartphones be a hit among netizens?
