LG announces new Black Label Series handset, up for worldwide release soon
LG Korea has announced a shiny new Black mobile phone which is expected to be released under its Black Label Series of handsets. The new LG phone, which is still without a name, is a slim slider style phone and could probably be a follow up to the LG Chocolate or LG Shine, or perhaps even a new model of its own. There’s not too many details on the LG announcement about the new phone except the press image and a mention that it will have a 5-megapixel camera. In addition, the new LG phone would also sport a carbon fiber and tampered glass body finish.
The new LG phone is slated for worldwide release on April 24th. Until then, we could only guess as to how LG is going to name this new handset.
AT&T offering $99 Valentine Day specials
AT&T currently has a special $99 promotion on the red LG Shine, BlackJack II and the BlackBerry Curve 8310. The promotion is valid through Valentines Day, which for those that may need a reminder is February 14 and they all require a 2-year agreement with purchase.
“Chocolates and flowers are standby gifts for Valentine’s Day, but this year we’re spicing things up by offering terrific deals for those who want to go with something different,” said Andy Wilson, vice president of National Marketing for AT&T’s wireless unit.
A nice offer for those looking to make a switch to AT&T, all three phones (personally I would prefer the Curve) would make a great primary phone, especially for only $99.

LG releases new Shine (SV420) promo video
We took a look at the LG Shine back at CES early this month, and it was a beauty. Similar to the RAZR in size and shape, the device sports a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, an MP3 player, and a scroll wheel on its front. Check out the promo video and let us know what you think.

LG Shine will be released in the US and Europe in 2007
The LG Shine is the Korean company’s next attempt to change the landscape of the cellphone market. Though one can argue that the Chocolate phone has made little effect when compared to the Motorola RAZR, I believe that it was the handset that brought music to the forefront of consumers’ minds when purchasing a new cellphone.
The next model up from LG is the Shine that we had dropped back in October. Where the Chocolate phone excels in music geared to teenagers and other music junkies, the Shine’s positioning has it for professionals. Named for its shiny mirror-like facade and stainless steel casing, the Shine features a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, an MP3 player, and a scroll wheel on the front.
No longer will it be exclusive to Korea, as LG plans to introduce it to the European and North American market next week at CES. In their effort to make it a big bash for the sleek stainless-steel Shine, the LG folks plan to set up a booth made entirely of stainless steel. The GSM version will be released in Europe in the first quarter of 2007 and soon thereafter in the rest of Asia and the United States. No pricing information has been announced yet.

T3 gets hands-on with the LG Shine
Excited for the new LG Shine (a parallel line to the chocolate series) and want to see more action? Check out T3’s hands-on experience with the shiny new handset. If you don’t know, the LG Shine is a metal handset with a mirror-like LCD screen, scroll functionality, and a 2 megapixel camera. Unlike the music/media targeted Chocolate phone, the LG Shine will be targeted to someone who is looking for a stylish handset that is different from the rest and willing to pay for more premium features.
Continue for the hands-on video.
LG shines with the next Chocolate phenomenon
The next super sexy handset from LG, after the Chocolate phone look a lot less than a bar of, well...chocolate. The LG Cyone, “Shine,” is a full metal handset with a mirror-like LCD screen, scroll functionality, and a 2 megapixel camera.
The phenomenally successful Chocolate phone, which sold more than four million units worldwide since its launch six months ago, proves the success with the Black Label Series and the music-phone. The LG Shine will be the second edition within this premium brand targeted to a slight different customer, but still someone who is looking for a stylish handset that is different from the rest.
The LG Shine will be tailor-made to accommodate the different needs of the global market and is currently under research prior to its global launch. Detail of global product specification, global launch date and pricing will be available early 2007.
