Sennheiser offering cash for your old, broken headphones

by Robert Nelson on Apr 11, 2008 at 10:43 AM

Sennheiser offering cash for your old, broken headphones

Sennheiser is offering a trade-in program of sorts for your old headphones. Whether “new, old, broken or used” all you have to do is choose the style of headphones that you want to purchase, fill out their form, gather up your old headphones and mail them in. The trade-in value depends not on the style of headphones that you are sending in, but on the style that you are getting from Sennheiser. The value will range from $5 for Street Earbuds up to $25 for Noise Canceling models. So if you were thinking about replacing those nasty or broken headphones, Sennheiser may be worth checking out. The trade-in offer is valid from April 1 through July 31.

by Natesh Sood on Jan 9, 2008 at 05:17 PM

Sennheiser and Kleer Connect MX W1

Lots of tech gadgets are going wireless these days. It’s actually pretty amazing how all this technology has quickly become wireless, and now Sennheiser is getting ready to unveil their latest wireless stereo headphones during CES. There’s this new technology out that allows the player to transmit the music without it becoming compressed, thus allowing the music to retain its original quality and without any being lost.

“In Kleer we’ve found the ideal technology partner for our MX W1 wireless earphones”, explains Stijn Jans, Managing Director of Sennheiser Consumer Electronics GmbH, Singapore branch. “Kleer’s digital radio transmission technology produces excellent sound quality, which means that for the first time we are in a position to offer our customers wireless earphones without compromising our special Sennheiser sound.”

The MX W1 combines this new transmission technology with superior quality dynamic systems, coupled with Sennheiser’s twist-to-fit design - all to provide a snug fit, and great audio quality. Additionally, it comes with a tiny transmitter so you can take these headphones and your music anywhere.

Sennheiser adds IE 6, IE 7, IE 8 headphones to the Pro Series

by Chris Marshall on Jan 9, 2008 at 02:22 AM

Sennheiser IE7 Headphones

Sennheiser has announced three pro level ear canal style headphones, the IE 6, IE 7, and top of the range IE 8. With this range you can emulate your favorite music artist as the concept behind this range is the same as the professionals use. They use dynamic transducers that cover the entire frequency range with one system which not only eliminates distortion but separates “tricky basslines and thunderous sound effects.”

With a robust and functional design all the models provide good isolation for precise reproduction (the top-of-the-range IE 8 can reach up to 26 dB of noise blocking attenuation) and have Kevlar strengthened cables.

The IE 6 is aimed at the bass enthusiast with passive attenuation up to 20 dB and a frequency response of 10 to 18,000 Hz, while the IE 7 classic has a frequency response of 10 to 19,000 Hz and attenuation up to 20 dB.

The top of the range IE 8 can can completely customize the frequency response to your listening preferences with a frequency response range from 10 to 20,000 Hz.

All the headphones have replaceable pads, transport case and a number of different ear adapters. The IE 6 and 7 will be available in March and the IE 8 in April.

Sennheiser CX6 Travel Headphones

It must be tough writing the PR on headphones. I mean what can you say about them really? Here is what I think about the CX 6 Travel from Sennheiser:

  • They look great.
  • They work on a plane as well as any other device you care to mention.
  • They are adjustable to the size of your ear canal.
  • As they are ear canal headphones they keep the noise out and they stop the sounds leaking out.

Now this is what the PR people have to say about them:
