Canon intro’s the SELPHY ES3, ES30 compact photo printers
Canon has added two new photo printers to its SELPHY line, the ES3 and ES30. Both photo printers stand out from the rest of the SELPHY printer models because of the advanced editing and customization features which Canon has included in both. These include advancements to the frame, clip art and calendar functions of the two printers. But more significantly, the SELPHY ES3 boasts of a new feature which Canon has never done before with any of its previous SELPHY printers, and that is the inclusion of 1GB of internal flash memory.
Canon unloads the SELPHY CP770, CP760 compact photo printers
Canon has added two new compact photo printers to its Selphy product line - the CP770 and CP760. Touting a fresh and unique design, both printers aim to give users an easier time when printing their precious photos even without using a computer.
Although both printers sport a small design, both are nonetheless rich in individual features. The CP770 is an ultra compact photo printer that answers your need for printing photos as quickly and as easy as possible, whether you’re at home or on the move. Touting an unusual new design, the CP770 comes with a basket-like storage bucket which can also accommodate several printer accessories such as paper, ink cartridge and power cord. The CP770 is also equipped with a 2.5-inch high definition LCD monitor. Retailing for $79.99, the CP770 will be available in apricot and crisp white color.
Photokina 2006 roundup

For those who are really into photography, the bi-annual Photokina is an international candy store that isn’t yet open for business. Approximately 160,000 visitors from 140 countries checked out products by 1600 suppliers between Sept. 26 and Oct. 1, 2006 in Cologne, Germany. Most of the products featured at Photokina are not yet on store shelves but should start appearing on shelves this Christmas.
According to B&H, a few of the highlights include:
- Leica M8 (Kodak-designed, 10.3Mp CCD sensor, 1.3x magnification factor)
- Canon’s PowerShot G7 (10Mp sensor, a 6x IS zoom, Canon’s third-generation DIGIC III imaging processor, Face Detection and wireless printing)
- Selphy 720 (Print lab-quality 4x6 in photos in under a minute that will last up to 100 years for about 28 cents each)
- CoolPix S7c (7.1Mp, 3x zoom, VR, 3 in. wide-angle LCD, up to ISO 1600)
- Pentax’s K10D (10.2Mp imaging sensor, Pentax Real Image Engine image processor, shake-reduction, 11-point AF, up to ISO 1600, auto dust-reduction, a 2.5 in. LCD, 16-segment multi-pattern metering)
