Samsung S3 Slim proves that timing is nothing
Our friends from Appletell, our sister site, reported last week about the big announcement Jobs made about the revamped iPod nano. These new nanos are available in a rainbow of colors in an 8GB and 16GB version, plus a few other new features.
It appears that Samsung is using a similar strategy with the launch of the S3 Slim. As you can see from the above photo, it also comes in a rainbow of colors. The memory on these S3s is not as big as the nano, as it comes in 4GB and 8GB versions. The Samsung S3 does have OGG support, folder navigation options, as well as a nine-band user EQ.
Samsung intro’s the Yepp P2, S3 portable media players
Samsung Korea has launched two new portable media players, the P2 video player and the S3 DAP. Both of these new devices belong to the Samsung Yepp PMP series.
The Yepp P2 boasts of the following features; a 3-inch touchscreen display (which in PMP standard is relatively large), Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and a choice of 4GB, 8GB or 16GB’s of storage capacity. The Yepp P2 will retail for around $249, $297 and $374 respectively.
The Yepp S3 DAP is actually a follow to the current Samsung K3 media player and it features enhanced video capabilities, Samsung’s Digital Natural Sound Engine 2.0, 3D sound, a 12 band equalizer, LED light effects, an FM radio, photo viewer, screen saver, alarm clock and a choice between a 2GB or 4GB storage capacity. The 2GB S3 will retail for around $86, while the 4GB model will retail for around $97.
No information yet as to when the P2 or S3 will be released internationally.

Samsung debuts new S2 Pebble, S3 MP3 players
This new S2 MP3 player (pictured) by Samsung might be one of the smallest MP3 players ever. Measuring out at 0.65 x 1.62 x 1.66-inches, and only weighing 0.03-pound, it has rightfully earned its nickname, which is Pebble.
Basically, the S2 comes with 1GB of internal memory and also an FM tuner. It plays MP3, WMA, and OGG, and comes in a few colors including green, purple, red, black, and white. The battery life on the S2 is pretty nice, although, considering its size, 13 hours isn’t too long on a single charge. However, it only takes 2 hours to fully charge, which isn’t too bad. There are a few buttons on the device, basically just play, pause, volume and playback options. If you want a small MP3 player then the Pebble may be one to consider.
