Rumor: Verizon’s Treo 700wx getting upgraded to Windows Mobile 6
The latest Treo rumor is calling for the Verizon branded 700wx to be getting an upgrade. The details are coming from some leaked “internal training slides” but sounds a little strange because it specifically mentions Windows Mobile 6 Professional, and not 6.1 as most would expect at this time. Either way, according to the rumor this will be update 1.24 and is coming sometime during the summer.
It would be a nice update to see come true, but this is one that I will not be holding my breath for. This is going to have to be one of those that we just sit back and wait, either for some additional details or for the update to actually happen. Also notable is that this Windows Mobile 6 update will be just for Verizon users and not be coming to those Treo 700wx users on Sprint.

Sprint’s July 13 Palm Treo 800w launch confirmed
It looks like the rumors that have been surrounding the upcoming release of the Palm Treo 800w for Sprint will indeed come true. As we previously reported, the launch date was rumored to be July 13, and it looks like that has since been confirmed. Of course, July 13 is when the regular, or non-enterprise customers will be able to get their hands on one. The Treo 800w will first be available beginning July 9 for enterprise customers.
The Treo 800w will set users back $599.99 if you choose to go in without a contract, or a much more reasonable $249.99 along with a two-year agreement.
In addition to the Treo 800w it looks like Sprint customers can expect the red BlackBerry Curve to land at the same time, and the LG Rumor in blue to follow later in the month of July.

Sony Ericsson’s Paris, Bei Bei handsets given the axe?
Rumor has it that the upcoming Paris P5 and BeiBei G702 handsets have been terminated and will no longer be manufactured. The Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog is reporting that the cancellation of these phones is due in part to a large amount of “criticism from reviewers and other industry watchers.” While that may be at least partially true; what handset, especially those in the development stage does not receive criticism?
While neither may have had the highest of specs, they both shared in a fairly decent amount of hype, both the Paris and Bei Bei each had numerous leaked images and leaked videos.
While this is still unconfirmed from the Sony Ericsson camp, the story does have one additional twist as they both may still potentially be released, but only in the Asian market.

Nokia’s E71 rumored to be available in white
In addition to the standard black coloring that we have been seeing, some newly surfaced images of the Nokia E71 are showing the device in white. The back of the handset along the top and bottom are white along with the keypad on the front. Overall its not an really bright or overbearing white, more subtle.
As we already know, the E71, at just 10mm thick will mark the “slimmest” business device in the Nokia lineup. It is expected to feature such goodies as built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and even a 3.2-megapixel camera.
While an official announcement has not yet come, it is expected to be officially announced next week during the Nokia Connection in Singapore. Keep reading to check out another pic of the E71 in white…
Yet more ‘leaked’ 3G iPhone live images
With just a few weeks left until the rumored June 9 launch date, it seems the sightings and details are only going to come at us even faster. The latest is another sighting, along with three images of the yet to be released phone. At this point your guess is as good as mine when it comes to these images, they do look real, but then again the Photoshop skills that some have are excellent. Thankfully June 9 is coming quickly. Keep reading for the other two images…
Asus rumored to be working on an Eee Tablet
Recent reports are now surfacing with details that Asus is currently prepping a touchscreen tablet version for their highly successful Eee PC lineup. This news stems from a recent conversation that Emmanuele Silanesu, the Australian national retail manager for Asus had with Current and stated they have been “obviously looking at other form factors rather than just a clamshell”.
The big question that remains is whether or not this tablet would be able to meet the low pricing that is found within the Eee lineup. While Asus may indeed be working on a tablet, its yet to be determined if it will wear the Eee badging or Asus badging.
Although this is still far from official, there were hints at an unveiling during Computex, which seems a little unlikely due to the timing. While this is an early report of a device like this from Asus, Computex begins in just a little over a week from now.
3G iPhone launch ‘confirmed’ for June 9?
Although the date has been speculated for a while, Gizmodo is claiming that they have confirmed the launch of the 3G iPhone during the WWDC Keynote on June 9. This latest development comes from “sources close to the 3G iPhone launch” and puts the 3G enabled iPhone with worldwide availability without any delay, meaning that you will be able to plunk down your hard earned money without any further waiting.
So now, as this has not been confirmed by Apple we have to remember that it just may well still change, or its always possible that it is entirely untrue to begin with. The real question here is not when it will be released, but whether or not current iPhone users will feel the need to run out and upgrade. It sounds nice to me, but I am not sure if the 3G support alone would be enough to win me over.

Nokia’s iPhone look alike dubbed the iPerformer
While this sounds like just about as strange a name that Nokia could come up with, the rumor train has dubbed the iPhone look-a-like the iPerformer. Personally I am thinking this one has to be false, having an iPhone competitor named the iPerformer sounds like they are just asking for trouble.
This handset has been a long time in the making, the pic alone is courtesy of an image from the GoPlay event that was held back in August of 2007. Along with the vague rumor of a name, the images are just not available and the known specs are just as elusive. The iPerformer, as we can tell from the picture feature a widescreen display, which appears by the lack of buttons to be touchscreen based. It is also rumored to feature NaviScroll, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a QWERTY keyboard as well as an FM radio and FM transmitter.
Just as light as the rest of the details, the price and any possible release date are still a mystery. Wow, such a cool looking and potentially promising phone that we first saw about 9 months ago, with so few details.

The rumors continue, even more 3G iPhone images surface, now in white
LIke we have mentioned before, the 3G iPhone is one of those rumors that is only going to go away when the phone is actually announced, until then we are going to see more and more speculation.
We have seen a few rumored images hit the web up till now, but these latest images are a first where the phone is no longer in black. As usual there is no way to confirm of deny these images, they are coming courtesy of a Chinese language discussion forum called WeiPhone.com. While my instinct tells me that these are not the 3G iPhone, it does bring up a good question as to why Apple has not released the iPhone in more than one color similar to the iPod line?

The 3G iPhone speculation continues
An Austrian newspaper, der Standard recently posted an article announcing that a 3G based iPhone would be “soon” available. They are not only claiming the new phone will be available but have also mentioned details about some new “more flexible” service plans to go along with it. Of course this is all just rumor at this point, because as you would expect, Apple would not comment on the ‘news.’ The latest chapter of this rumor was ‘confirmed’ by T-Mobile and it was noted that Austria would be amongst the first to receive the newly updated and highly anticipated iPhone. So the speculation all seems to be pointing toward a June release, but as usual, with Apple products we are just going to have to sit back, wait and try to be patient.
