Fujitsu has quietly unveiled its new Stylistic ST6012 tablet PC via its own product page at the Fujitsu website.  This tablet PC is geared to business professionals who want to be productive at work while on the move, mainly because the tablet PC is “light, thin and robust” which makes it a good piece of hardware to bring wherever you may go.  In addition, Fujitsu claims that the tablet PC’s housing gives extra protection against dampness and dust.  Rest assured that you can bring the tablet PC even on construction sites and you would not have to worry of damaging your machine.

Olympus unveils the ruggedized Stylus 1050SW digital camera

Trust Olympus to come up with yet another digital camera geared for photo enthusiasts with highly active lifestyles. The new Olympus Stylus 1050SW is a rugged 10.1-megapixel digital camera that is shockproof, waterproof and freeze proof. It can withstand five-foot drops to the ground, still works even at the most freezing weather condition and won’t get drown out on you even if you submerged it into water up to 3 meters deep.

Related to its rugged features, the 1050SW also features Tap Control which according to Olympus makes the top, back or sides of the camera sensitive to touch which in turn makes up for easy control of the camera’s menu settings. This is made possible by the 1050SW’s 3D accelerometer that detects the direction of the force on the camera’s body.

Asus offers up the ruggedized B51 notebook

Asus B51 Rugged Notebook

Asus has announced the new B51 notebook which is being touted as a ruggedized machine that can withstand harsh treatments such as drops, shocks, spills and scratches. The B51 is built with a lightweight strong magnesium alloy chassis and buffered against shock with rubber bumpers along its edges. It also has a protective film to shield it from scratches.

Like all ruggedized notebooks in its class, the B51 was said to have passed military specifications namely the ‘MIL 810F Method 516.5 Procedure IV’ which simply means that it can withstand fall from a height of up to 75 cm (about 2.5-feet). Even the data stored in the hard drive will be protected from corruption by a sponge protection system which also protects its keyboard.
