Bowers & Wilkins Music Club

Bowers and Wilkins, best known as the manufacturer of high quality speakers, has launched their subscription-based Music Club this summer.  The service allows subscribers to download high quality music, recorded in (former lead singer of Genesis) Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studio, in Bath, Great Britain.  Each month, a new album, from a selected artist, is released.  Some of the past featured artists include, Gwyneth Herbert, Little Axe, and Brett Anderson.  Subscriptions can be purchased in 6- or 12-month varieties, for $39.95 and $59.95, respectively.  After using the service for a few weeks, I have some mixed feelings.

HP has just formally announced the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC and we are already seeing quite a few hands on reviews coming in. Judging from what is being written the Mini-Note is going to be a solid force in the UMPC market. As we mentioned earlier today, the Mini-Note PC will be priced (starting) at $499 and be available later in the month.

Lenovo has officially unveiled and made their ultra-portable ThinkPad X300 available for order just about a week ago. With a lot of anticipation and speculation in the lead up to this release it seems that the X300 lives up to just about everything you could have hoped for. The new ultra-portable from Lenovo, the ThinkPad X300 features a 13.3-inch LED backlit display, a 1.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB RAM, 64GB SSD, running Windows XP Professional and range in weight from 2.9 to 3.1 pounds with a variety of available connectivity options. Pricing will begin at $2,548 and go up depending on configuration.
