Ricoh unveils the rugged looking; water, dust resistant G600 camera
Ricoh has announced the new rugged-looking, water and dust resistant camera - the G600. Passing the US Department of Defense standards as a shock resistant product that can withstand a 1.5-meter (about 5-foot) fall, the G600 packs of the same features as other Ricoh camera products, except for sporting an overall smaller and lighter camera body.
Users who live exhilarating lifestyles would benefit from the G600’s water, dust and impact resistant features as they can bring the G600 anywhere they want to without worrying about damaging the camera’s inner sensitive parts. The G600 features a 10-megapixel lens, a large 2.7-inch LCD, a 5x optical zoom with wide-angle focal point which is equivalent to 28-140mm for a 35 mm camera, digital image stabilizer, high ISO from 64-3200 and built-in flash. In addition to those features, the G600 also has USB support, a large-capacity and long lasting battery that gives 360 shots (as per CIPA standard) before it runs out of juice and support for SD/SDHC memory cards of up to 8GB for storage. Speaking of batteries, the G600 can also take AAA-batteries in case its lithium-ion runs out. Pricing for the G600 is not yet available at this time.
