Articles about promotion: August 30, 2008

Paramount wants you to replace your DVDs with Blu-ray, and they are giving you $10 each to prove it

by Jodie Andrefski on Aug 27, 2008 at 07:20 PM

Trying to lure in customers to replace their DVDs or HD DVDs with Blu-rays, Paramount is offering ten bucks per title to do just that. Although Paramount and Dreamwork titles are involved in the offer, it isn’t good for just any Paramount movie.

According to HighDefDigest, the promotion will start with the release of Transformers on Blu-ray coming in just a few days on September 2nd. Hopefully you won’t mind messing up those boxes a bit though, since you need to include the proof-of-purchase tabs from both the DVD and the Blu-ray disk, along with the promotional certificate from inside eligible Blu-ray movies.  You also have to buy your Blu-rays before December 31, 2009 and have your rebate envelope postmarked before January 31, 2010.

by Elisabeth Young on Jun 5, 2008 at 08:59 PM

Interested parties may take home a Palm Centro (valued at around $400 each) if they’re among the lucky four who will be chosen.

The offer is open to legal residents of the United States, the Simpler Life Weekly Giveaway Sweepstakes began last June 1 and will end on June 23, 2008.  Participants can either visit http://sprint.p.delivery.net/m/p/nxt/reg/cmb/sweeps.asp and complete the online entry from or mail a postcard to Sprint with a detailed set of required information.

Our sister site Gamertell has spotted an interesting freebie at Target retail stores. The chain is putting out a Speed Racer-themed gift card that comes with a 60+ MB USB 2.0 Flash drive built right in. It is one of those gift cards you fill with money to give to someone else, so it’s essentially free if you happen to forget to fill it before you take it home. (*wink*)

The Flash drive is preloaded with 50 MB of promotional files including the usual wallpapers, printable coupons, movie files and a videogame cheat code for the upcoming release of May 6, 2008, release of Speed Racer: The Videogame. You can, of course, keep or delete the files as you wish and simple have a nifty fat credit card sized Flash drive with a Speed Racer skin.
