Xbox 360 Marketplace update gets previewed
If you’re as stoked as we are about the new goodies that Microsoft is packing into the Xbox 360 Marketplace, then you’ll be happy to see that an interview with a Microsoft employee at their showcase event has been caught on video. The new marketplace, as we discussed in the latest Gadgetell Podcast, will now have HD movie downloads (to complement their recent 1080p announcement) as well as TV show downloads.

Nintendo set on shipping 6 million Wii units by March 31, 2007
We’re still hoping that Nintendo will have a launch date and price for us at their Wii event coming on the 14th of this month. In the mean time, the company has reconfirmed plans to ship 6 million consoles by March 31, 2007. Standing by their schedule so well is really making Microsoft and Sony look terrible. Nintendo is like a fly on the wall - sitting back watching all of the mistakes those two guys are making - and capitalizing on them. So far, the Wii has been rumored to launch anywhere from November 2nd to November 12th.
In related news, GameSpot has already begun selling Wii accessories and cables.

Nintendo to host Wii event on September 14, launch details anyone?
So we’ve gotten a good feel for how Nintendo’s new Wii system will stand up against the competition, but still have no launch details. In fact, we’ve covered it so much that I kind of feel like it’s come and gone already. Regardless, Nintendo is holding a press event in New York on September 14th, and we’re hoping some launch details will come out of it. Expect a good old keynote from Nintendo America’s President, Reggie Fils-Aime and some good old nunchuck and Wiimote swinging

Dell announces the long awaited XPS M2010

Back at CES Dell spoke of their plans to introduce a powerful beast-of-a-machine that’s somewhere between a desktop and a laptop. Michael Dell even showed a prototype to the press. Today at Dell’s press event in LA, they finally announced the XPS M2010. Specs include a Intel Core Duo Processor T2600 (2.16GHz/667MHz FSB/2MB Cache), upgrades to 4GB of dual-channel DDR2 memory, a 20.1 inch LCD screen, 256MB RADEO X1800 graphics card, up to 240GB of RAID 0/1, WiFi, a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, 1.3 megapixel camera (for VoIP), 8 built-in speakers with a subwoofer and integrated HD audio. All of that and it weighs it at around 20 lbs. Not something you want to be carrying around, but still a sweet computer. The XPS M2010 will set you back $4000 base and about $8000 fully loaded.
[Thanks, Jeremy]
