Novatell Wireless releases the Ovation MC990D, MC992D global USB modems

Novatel Wireless USB Modems

Novatel Wireless has announced the Ovation MC990D and MC992D HSPA, two high-speed USB data modems that can deliver high-speed global Internet connectivity anywhere in the world. Both of these USB modems run on HSPA, WCDMA, EDGE and GPRS networks

The MC990D was specifically optimized for HSPA networks in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa on the 900 and 2100 MHz bands, while the MC992D is optimized for HSPA networks in North America on the 850 and 1900 MHz bands.

Rogers to intro the Novatel X950D, MC950D data cards

Rogers X950D ExpressCard Model

Rogers has just announced the addition of two new high speed data modems, the Novatel X950D and the MC950D. Both modems are tri-band HSPA and Quad-Band EDGE/GPRS and according to Novatel are made to offer “maximum performance and durability.” The X950D is an ExpressCard modem and the MC950D is a USB modem.

While Rogers has announced the modems they are not yet available, the X950D and the MC950D are both set to be released later this summer, both will retail for $49.99 with a three-year agreement.

Novatel unveils the Ovation MC930D HSDPA/HSUPA USB modem

Novatel Wireless MC930D USB HighSpeed Modem

Novatel Wireless has announced their latest in high speed USB modems. The Ovation MC930D will offer speeds up to 7.2 Mbps down and 2.1 Mbps up on any network that uses the 2100 MHz band, all in a nice small package. The modem measures in at just 70 mm x 25 mm x 12 mm.

The MC930D offers simple installation with the necessary software preinsalled on the internal memory of the modem and ships with a dual USB Y-cable to help boost power in in areas with poor signal strength. The MC930D will be available beginning in February but pricing information has not yet been announced.
