Nokia’s unlocked N85 now available with Amazon

We first saw the reports that the Nokia N85 would be heading to the US a few months back and now it looks like it has almost made an appearance. Well, technically it is available for you to purchase. However it is currently listed with a 2 to 4 week shipping time, so it will be a little while before you will have it in-hand. The listed N85 comes in Copper and is unlocked for use in the US. The one drawback here is the price—$555.59.
Of course, while it sounds expensive, it really is not out of the normal price range for unlocked phones, it is also much nicer looking than the $1,200 list price. Given that, it almost seems like you are getting a bargain. Just as a refresher, the Nokia N85 features a 5-megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi and has a 2.6-inch AMOLED QVGA display. It is also running S60 and has support for 3G.

Nokia to bring the N96 to the US market soon

Finally, Nokia has officially announced the much talked about N-series mobile phone, N96. To be out sometime in Q4 2008, the N96, just like all the other models in the N-Series, will feature a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss Optics, integrated Wi-Fi support and aGPS. Nokia has also tied up the N96 with its own Ovi services which would allow users to enjoy mobile content such as images and videos available online. In addition, the N96 also packs in some preinstalled N-Gage games which would pretty much tease users into partaking of Nokia’s paid N-Gage gaming service. In fact, the N96 will come with vouchers to purchase the full version of the N-Gage games such as Asphalt 3: Street Rules as well as trial version of four other popular N-Gage titles.
Nokia N79, N85 get their NAM versions

So it looks like our friends from the UK are not the only ones getting the two new N-Series phones - the N79 and N85. Nokia has also announced the North American versions of these two powerful mobile handsets, and while the UK versions of the N79 and N85 are more than likely to start hitting the stores this month, US stores will start getting both sometime in October.
Anyway, in addition to the features that we already know about the N85 such as a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, a 2.6-inch AMOLED display, GPS navigation, geotagging support and 28 hours of audio playback, we also know now that the N85 will support N-Gage gaming, high-speed HSDPA connectivity as well have Wi-Fi capability and a built-in FM transmitter.
Flash demo of the Nokia N96 leaks out; view it while it’s hot

Nokia has just put up a flash demo of the latest in its N-series phones, the N96 which is slated for release sometime this quarter. Like we already know, the N96 sports a dual-slide design, a 2.8-inch screen and supports high-quality videos in various formats. In addition the N96 also features a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, flash, video light, video recording at 30 fps, A-GPS for geotagging of photos and 16MB of internal memory.
As this seemed to be not an official announcement, expect Nokia to delete the flash demo once this news spreads out. If you don’t get to watch it, don’t worry because like what happened with other Nokia mobile phone models, once a flash demo leaks out, and Nokia deletes it, for sure Nokia will issue an official announcement in no time at all. Also, rumor has it that the N96 will retail in the ballpark of $870.

Nokia delivers the N78 to the US market

Nokia has just released one of its N-Series handsets, the N78 to the US mobile market. And while we accept the fact that this is a worthy addition to the slew of smartphones already available, mainly because of its rich and powerful features, some may find its $560 price tag a little bit on the expensive side. But if you are a Nokia fan and you wouldn’t mind spending that much for a new N-Series Nokia phone, take a gander at what the N78 has to offer.
The Nokia N78 features a 3.2-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and automatic geotagging, a-GPS, an integrated FM transmitter, digital music player, high-speed HSDPA connectivity on North American 850/1900 MHz networks, support for Nokia Maps and Share using Nokia’s Ovi site, as well as a touch-sensitive keyboard and microSDHC card slot. Keep reading to check out another image of the Nokia N78…
Sorry, Nokia N96 with Xenon flash pic is bogus
I knew it! I knew it was too good to be true! Plus, the presence of that little dual-LED flash alongside the rumored Xenon flash should’ve been my biggest clue. But it is only now that I realize that I’ve actually been staring at the photo of a… fake. This is not a “leaked photo of the Nokia N96 with Xenon flash.“ Indeed, it’s just a regular modified photo.
FCC approves the Nokia 6220 Classic

The FCC has just approved Nokia’s newest cameraphone, the N6220 classic which doesn’t look like any of the latest N-series mobile phones. But what the 6220 lacks in the trendy physical design, it made up through its high-end features. Topping the list of these features are a whooping 5-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, GPS and the latest version of the S60 operating system.
The Nokia 6220 either make the other Nokia high end phones pale in comparison or match them up with its own powerful features. The 6220 is better than the Nokia N82 with its built-in geotagging which will embed location of the 6220 users whenever there is a GPS signal in that location. The 6220’s video capability matches up with the N95, N82 and other Nseries phone with its 30fps shooting speed at VGA (640x480) resolution. And the 6220’s TV-out capability is not common among Nokia N-Series models.
Amazon offering a ‘red’ hot deal on the Nokia N95-3

The N95 from Nokia gave us very little to complain about as far as its innards go, but for some the price may have been a little on the high side. If that was the reason you skipped buying it in the first place, the N95-3 in its fiery red incarnation begs for a change. This limited-edition N95-3 is now on sale at Amazon for $504.99, not a big price to pay for those who know what it’s made of. The N95-3, as you already known, is the American version of Nokia’s successful N95 but offers better battery life, more memory, and is known to work seamlessly with AT&T’s HSDPA network. Apart from this, nothing else has changed, it still retains the 5-megapixel Carl Zeiss camera with autofocus, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and TV-out.
Nokia N78 with US 3G gets the FCC treatment
We have yet another phone leaked via the FCC, this time its the Nokia N78 with support for US 3G. If all goes as well, we’ll all be seeing just how the Nokia N78 will fare with the 3G networks currently available in the US (read: the AT&T network since it’s the only operator offering 3G in the US at the time). If you remember, the Nokia N78 is supposed to be the successor of the N73, and a lesser powerful version of the N82. It features a 3.2-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, an FM transmitter, support for microSD storage cards up to 8GB in size, integrated A-GPS, and of course, that funky old keypad. Look for some more
leaked photos from the FCC to be available soon.
