Pokémon 10th anniversary party rocked NYC!
It was the biggest Pokémon party ever, and you didn’t need a ticket to get in! The Pokémon Party of the Decade took over New York City’s Bryant Park on today. The event is so big that New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg proclaimed Aug. 8 “Pokémon Day” in New York City. A big party had even a bigger celebrity guest, Hulk Hogan hosted the crazy party.
The Party of the Decade featured a live stage show, Pokémon Video Game National Championship Finals, a video game arena, the giant Flying Pikachu balloon and much more!

Moto RAZR now in lime green and Nintendo DS in black
I don’t know about you guys but I get pretty tired writing about every single color option that comes out for Motorola products. We get it, Motorola and Crayola must share designers. Now for my sake, can we go back to black boxes?
PS. The Nintendo DS will now be available in black too.
Peep Show: Nintendo DS Lite
I had a chance at Nintendo World to get some hands-on time with the new lighter, brighter, slimmer, DS Lite. I had never played with the original DS but I was impressed with the new version. Coming from a PSP to a DS I expected the graphics to be sub-par and while they were not the same (PSP is much more life-like and the DS is more cartoonish) they were not bad either. The screen is bright and the device is light--the marketing team can keep their jobs. Overall I enjoyed the system, the dual screen seemed nice but I really did not make mushc use of it on MarioCheck out the rest of the pics.

This Week in Gadgetell: 5/15/06 - 5/21/06
This week, like many weeks, was headlined by two big Apple events, the release of the MacBook and their new store (also known as the glass cube) on 5th in NY as well as Sony’s release of the VAIO UX, a hybrid between a Sidekick and Origami. We also got PS3 Europe pricing, saw the release of Super Mario Bros. of the Nintendo DS, RIAA sued XM, MS released the Vista requirement specs, Sony Ericsson dropped four new phones, Yahoo pulled a redesign as did Flickr and went from Beta to Gamma, Sprint and Verizon announced pricing and support for the Palm 700p, and Plantronics supports VoIP. We also celebrated the 10th anniversary of AIM with the release of Phoneline and Blur-ray hit in an internal drive as well as the Sony AR laptop.
Lets not forget our first look at the desktop software Deskloops and our reviews of the Maxtor OneTouch III Mini Edition (100GB) and the DLO Transdock Micro FM Transmitter. And finally, we had our share of Motorola Q excitement.

PSP and DS to run Vonage
A source close to VoIP company Vonage told T3 that the company is in the process of creating an interface that would allow users to convert the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS into internet-powered phones. Both devices are compatible with VoIP, since they have built in microphones and can connect to the internet via Wi-Fi. All they need the necessary interface and software.
Vonage’s partnership with Wi-Fi operator Cloud means that its customers can get internet access at over 7,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK and there are thousands of hotspots here in the US as well.
There is no word on when Vonage and Sony/Nintendo will roll-out these features but this week’s upcoming E3 is a better time than ever.
