Nokia to bring the N96 to the US market soon

by Arnold Zafra on Aug 27, 2008 at 07:50 AM

Nokia N96

Finally, Nokia has officially announced the much talked about N-series mobile phone, N96. To be out sometime in Q4 2008, the N96, just like all the other models in the N-Series, will feature a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss Optics, integrated Wi-Fi support and aGPS. Nokia has also tied up the N96 with its own Ovi services which would allow users to enjoy mobile content such as images and videos available online. In addition, the N96 also packs in some preinstalled N-Gage games which would pretty much tease users into partaking of Nokia’s paid N-Gage gaming service. In fact, the N96 will come with vouchers to purchase the full version of the N-Gage games such as Asphalt 3: Street Rules as well as trial version of four other popular N-Gage titles.

Flash demo of the Nokia N96 leaks out; view it while it’s hot

by Arnold Zafra on Jun 30, 2008 at 07:09 AM

Nokia N96 Flash Demo

Nokia has just put up a flash demo of the latest in its N-series phones, the N96 which is slated for release sometime this quarter. Like we already know, the N96 sports a dual-slide design, a 2.8-inch screen and supports high-quality videos in various formats. In addition the N96 also features a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, flash, video light, video recording at 30 fps, A-GPS for geotagging of photos and 16MB of internal memory.

As this seemed to be not an official announcement, expect Nokia to delete the flash demo once this news spreads out. If you don’t get to watch it, don’t worry because like what happened with other Nokia mobile phone models, once a flash demo leaks out, and Nokia deletes it, for sure Nokia will issue an official announcement in no time at all. Also, rumor has it that the N96 will retail in the ballpark of $870.

Nokia’s N96 expected to ship in July

by Indraneel Purohit on May 31, 2008 at 07:58 AM

n96

The Nokia N96, is now expected to ship in July of this year.  Announced earlier this year, the N96 once again pushes the upper limit of the Finnish phone manufacturer’s N Series.  The quad band N96 has Wi-Fi, GPS, and support for DVB-H mobile tv—all built in.  The phone sports a stellar 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and auto-focus.  A neat hardware feature of the N96 is a little kickstand for the device, enabling you to prop it up to watch videos.

Play.com has listed the phone for 599.99 GBP, which converts around $1,200 USD.  However, the Nokia MSRP is currently listed at a slightly more reasonable $800.  Either way, Play.com says the N96 will be shipping on July 31st.

Keep your wallets padded Nokia fanatics, because come July, they’ll be taking a heavy hit.

Nokia N96 with Xenon flash leaked image

Nokia N96 with Xenon flash leaked

Just yesterday, we mentioned that the Nokia N96 will have a Xenon flash. Unfortunately at the time is was based mostly on rumor, so what better way for us to be able to follow that up, with nothing less than a leaked picture of a Nokia N96 with a Xenon flash. While this is far from official confirmation, it certainly seems this rumor has been proven true.

Looks like the Nokia N96 excites as it features a generous 2.8-inch QVGA display, impressive stereo speakers, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, and the much awaited Xenon flash, similar to what Nokia N82 currently has.  Now, I’m pretty much convinced that N96 will be worth the wait. So Nokia, when can we finally get our hands on your new baby?

Nokia N96 rumored to have Xenon flash

by David Gonzales on Mar 30, 2008 at 05:22 AM

Nokia N96

The Nokia N96 seems to be the epitome of an all-in-one. It has a nice, large 2.8-inch QVGA screen that displays up to 16.7 million colors. Stereo speakers are built-in for audiophiles, as well as a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack. It will let you connect to all the right places using a Mini-USB port, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, WiFi, HSDPA, and DVB-H TV Tuner. It’s got a whopping 16GB of internal memory and that can be supplemented with up to 16GB MicroSD cards via the previously mentioned Mini-USB port. And it’s got a 5-megapixel camera like most other top-notch camera phones currently available. Now although these are all a bunch of really great features, I have to say something’s missing. And that, my digital camera loving friends, is the Xenon flash. Don’t you agree?

Nokia’s N96 headed for an August release in UK

by Joe Roland on Mar 10, 2008 at 09:01 AM

Nokia N96

It looks like we don’t have to wait long before Nokia’s next flagship phone hits the shelves, at least in the UK that is. According to Carphone Warehouse, the Nokia N96 is scheduled to be released in August, barely six months after we first got the whiff of such a device and five months after the dual slider was officially announced at the MWC 2008. On the list accompanying the N96 are also the Sony Ericsson G900 and the Samsung G810 with release dates of April and July 2008 respectively.
