Yoto’s M300 PMP looks awfully familiar

by David Gonzales on May 6, 2008 at 02:39 PM

Yoto M300

Fancy getting a new portable media player that has a strikingly familiar minimalist form factor? If you can live without a touchscreen and only 3-inches of screen real estate on your gadget, the new Yoto M300 could prove to be the just right for you. It supports common multimedia file formats such as MP3, WMA, AVI, DIVX, MPEG4, RM, XVID, RMVB, and FLV, as well as JPG, GIF, and BMP for photos. The previously mentioned 3-inch screen will have WQVGA (400 × 240) resolution, and the unspecified size of its internal memory can be further expanded with up to 2GB microSD cards. It has built-in speakers, support for e-books, multi-tasking, sound recording and “other basic functions.” Sadly, this product seems only to work with Windows 2000 and Windows XP computers. (Although it’s hard to imagine any Mac users settling for a PMP other than the iPod). As for pricing, we still don’t know where to start yet. But with basic features and a form-factor that’s as good as copied, rest assured it won’t be anywhere near ridiculously high.

Toshiba updates their Satellite Pro notebook line-up

by Natesh Sood on Apr 23, 2008 at 08:29 AM

L300 and L300D

Its always important for a company to keep the product line-up fresh and lately Toshiba is trying to do this with their Satellite Pro series, by adding nice, new features and giving their laptops an overall boost.

Basically, the L300 and L300D will remain the starting laptop and every laptop on from there will be a little more advanced. You can choose to have an Intel Core 2 Duo in the L300 or the AMD Turion 64 X2 in the L300D. Screenwise, they both offer a 15.4-inch display. Now, a $699 L300D sports a 1.9GHz AMD processor, 1GB of RAM and a 120GB hard drive. A $799 L300 boasts a 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor and a 160GB hard drive. Both of these laptops look really good, but to me, the L300 might be a little bit better of a deal.

Toshiba begins shipping new 14.1-inch Satellite M300 series laptops

Toshiba Satellite M300 laptop

Toshiba has started shipping its new 14.1-inch Satellite M300 laptop. With a retail price starting at $949.99, users can choose between the M300-S4822 or the M300-S4826.

With the slew of new laptops recently launched by Toshiba, I’m beginning to believe that it is the company’s way of introducing its Fusion finish that is bonded directly into the chassis of the laptops. Like the previous models recently released by Toshiba, the Satellite M300 also features the Sleep-and-Charge USB ports and the LED-illuminated “Feather Touch” multimedia command keys.

Toshiba updates their Satellite laptops; combine performance, affordability, style

by Arnold Zafra on Apr 2, 2008 at 01:19 PM

Toshiba Satellite Laptops

Toshiba has updated four of their Satellite laptops and made the machines into something more affordable and yet rich in powerful features while redesigning the overall look into a more stylish looking machine.

Toshiba has redesigned its 13.3-inch Satellite U400, 14.1-inch Satellite M300, 15.4-inch Satellite A300 and the 17-inch Satellite P300 with Tru-Brite LCD displays. These laptop models are now sporting Toshiba’s Fusion Finish in a horizon pattern making each of the laptops in the series look unique and modern. Completing the new design is a clear and glossy laptop casing.

In addition to the new display and look, the Toshiba laptops also feature the “Feather-Touch” multimedia command keys that lie beneath the Fushion Finish. With a cool glow of white LED light, these touch sensitive buttons allow users to better enjoy and control DVD and CD playback, and make volume adjustments quick and easy.
