Kingston intro’s USB memory stick with built-in card reader
Typically USB thumb drives don’t offer much as far as excitement, they have storage space and you can store files. The newest drive from Kingston offers a little bit more, the DataTraveler Micro Reader offers your standard onboard storage but also includes a built-in card reader. The DataTraveler Micro Reader can read microSD, microSDHC or Memory Stick Micro (M2) and is available in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB storage options. The reader retails for $19, $28 and $42 respectively and are currently available.

Vista successor sooner than you think
It’s no secret that Vista hasn’t lived up to Microsoft expectations, or anyone’s expectations for that matter, and so Microsoft has tried to fix it and now there are multiple sources leaking information to TG Daily about new operating systems. This new OS has been named Windows 7, and a Beta version - so to speak, has been shipped to “key partners” under the name “Milestone 1” or M1. Eventually, the Windows 7 OS is expected to be released in the second half of 2009.
SanDisk introduces the Memory Stick Micro
Although the new Memory Stick Micro (M2) by SanDisk (co-developed with Sony) is targeted mainly for Sony Ericcson’s mobile phone customers, the M2 can also be used in any device with a Memory Stick PRO Duo slot, thanks to an adapter. Available in 2GB, 1GB and 512MB, the small storage devices should be well-received by Sony Ericcson’s customers since their telephones come with very basic storage options.
The increase in GBs means my K750i can now accomodate more videos and pictures, which in turn means less time spent downloading files to my PC. Shipping worldwide in January 2007 (though a bit later in Japan), the M2 mobile cards are expected to cost: $119.99 for a 2GB card, $54.99 for 1GB and $44.99 for 512MB.

Sony Ericsson working on Ai, a next-gen Walkman slim-phone
You know what they say...slim is in. Well, I don’t know if anybody really says that, but apparently that’s Sony Ericsson’s new motto. According to Reuters, Sony Ericsson is ready to launch its first slim candybar phone, dubbed “Ai”. Ai is apparently just 9.4 mm thick - which beats out the SLVR, and is similar thickness to some of Samsung’s offerings. Other features include a 2 megapixel camera, Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot, and walkman software allowing for over-the-air downloads. Ai will come in silver and black, and is expected to be unveiled in March 2007. More details as they come.
