Canadians get the LG Vu TU915 via Rogers Wireless
As announced earlier, Canadian wireless carrier Rogers Wireless has brought the LG Vu TU915 to our Canadian friends to play with. Users can either opt to get the phone with a 3-year contract for CA$279, with a 2-year contract for CA$329, with a 1-year contract for CA$379 or pay $429 and not have any service agreement.
Whichever they decide to choose, users will be treated with some pretty good features with the LG Vu TU915. These features include a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display with virtual QWERTY keyboard, 2-megapixel camera with auto focus, zoom, and brightness controls, music player with 4GB of storage, HTML browser and HSDPA network support. Of course, this is in addition to the ultra sleek and slim body design of the LG Vu TU915 which measures only 13mm in thickness.
And since it is released under Rogers, that means users would have access to Rogers MusicStore where they can play, purchase and manage their favorite digital music even while on the go.

Canadians to get LG VU through Rogers Wireless
While we’re waiting for AT&T’s release of the LG Vu here in the US, Canadians are going to get their own LG Vu’s, courtesy of a local wireless carrier, Rogers Wireless. Basically nothing will change with the LG Vu’s feature set, and it’s only in the deal to take advantage the super-fast HSDPA network of Rogers Wireless. So it’s safe to say that it will be the same touchscreen and virtual QWERTY keyboard endowed mobile phone, featuring a 2-megapixel camera with auto focus lens, music player with 4GB of storage, a full HTML browser and the aforementioned HSDPA network support. Unfortunately at this point, like AT&T, neither Rogers Wireless nor LG have provided any pricing and availability details (other than saying it will be out by May), but these are surely going to come from another official announcement shortly.

Can these 3 stop the iPhone? CTIA gems compared
I am doing a bit of head scratching this morning. CTIA has come and gone, as has CeBit and 3G. In this post, I’ll go over the 3 phones that are hot on the tail of the iPhone. But can any of them compare?
First, I think it is essential to boil down the obvious: the iPhone hype is about 3 things.
1. OS. Fun. Simple. Easy. We like pushing things around with our fingers.
2. Internet. We do so much online, it is natural to do that everywhere. The big screen is a huge plus.
3. Sexy. What makes sexy? Not sure but Apple has it right now.
Knowing I am but a tech blogger and thus an idiot, let’s see how the phone makers have assessed the competition and how they plan to beat it.
LG Vu for AT&T finally gets all official
As expected, the LG Vu gets official today, following the recently released official specs and the speculation that it’s going to come in two different versions. Although AT&T could not be kind enough to include pricing info yet, it does say that the LG Vu will be available in May. It’s also confirmed to come in two versions, one that has mobile TV support, and another one that does not. It boasts a full HTML Web browser coupled with HSDPA 3G. And with a haptic-enabled touchscreen-based user interface, you’ve got yourself another one of those iPhone wannabes. But I think it’s best not to judge the LG Vu on paper, and as always, it would be better to see how well it performs in real life.

LG Vu, official specs released
The official specs for the LG Vu are in and it seems the recent speculation about two versions was correct. The Vu will be available as the CU920 with TV support and the CU915 without TV support. Both models will, of course, feature the large 3-inch WQVGA 262K color touchscreen.
Other features that are shared between both models is 3G support, a 2-megapixel camera and HTML web browser. The Vu has just 120MB of internal memory, but also has a microSD slot with support for up to 4GB of additional storage. The Vu measures in at 4.25 x 2.16 x 0.51-inches and weighs just 3.16-ounces. The included 1000mAh battery is stated to give up to 3-hours of talk time.
Although it has not been officially confirmed, an announcement is expected to come very shortly, perhaps during CTIA which runs April 1-3, 2008.

AT&T announces new Mobile TV with FLO
AT&T has introduced their new mobile TV service called the AT&T Mobile TV with FLO. The new service from the two companies will according to the press release, feature high quality live programming. MediaFLO, still yet to be launched, is expected to be available in May. AT&T Mobile TV will also be featuring two channels exclusive for this mobile service, aside from the top channels like Comedy Central, ESPN Mobile TV, Fox Mobile, NBC 2GO, CBS Mobile, Nickelodeon and NBC News2Go.
The only phones launched that will support MediaFLO will be the Samsung Access and LG Vu, both providing a clearer view of the TV as compared to other phones. This joint venture by FLO and AT&T plans on expanding the FLO TV service not only to AT&T subscribers but also to consumers in the US.
AT&T prepping two versions for the LG Vu
Some interesting information has popped up on the AT&T website referencing two models for the upcoming LG Vu. Under the model numbers CU915 and CU920 it looks to offer differences and in good news it appears that its more than just your typical color changes. Based of these still yet-to-be-confirmed details it looks like the Vu will be released in one version with MediaFLO and another without.
