Awaken your inner child terrorist, LEGO style

by David Gonzales on Mar 24, 2008 at 07:13 AM

Brickarms LEGO goon

Here’s set of toys Osama Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein might have fallen in love with. Brickarms is a company that sells LEGO-reminiscent testosterone-inspired mini figures complete with their own sets of custom weapons and weapons packs. The minifigs are custom made with LEGO parts themselves and BrickArms just serves as supplier of accessories - an arms dealer, if you will - and offers custom-built weapons of mass destruction for your murderous and sadistic pleasure. I believe they ship to almost any country (as long as it’s on the map!) in the world, and they also give away free weapons with every order. Continue reading for a few more pictures of BrickArms minifigs, custom-made arsenal, and items that are proudly made of SOLID GOLD.

Lego USB

Solid Alliance, who have brought us many ‘far-out’ PC accessories have taken it back to the old school with these new Lego shaped USB disks.

The drives come in a 1GB size, in blue, green, yellow, red and black and you guessed it, are fully compatible with other Lego products. No price has yet been stated, but these are not exclusively for children!

Lego Mindstorms Get Creative

by XXDelta Taph on Dec 30, 2006 at 05:14 PM

We would like to welcome Delta Taph to Gadgetell, 12-year old ProBlogger and Web 2.0 Professional.

lego beer opener

Recently, Lego has been trying their very best to appeal to the geeky crowd, as we’ve seen with their fantastic Lego Mindstorms set. But it seems that some fans were unimpressed, and took matters into their own hands.

We’ve already seen the incredible feats that can be performed with the newest Mindstorms NXT packages, but did you know that you can open up a bottle of beer using these spiffy little packs? It seems so as in this video above, you can see the home-built Lego beer opener. The device is slightly larger than conventional openers, and is also a lot slower. But this kind of enthusiasm could give birth to a whole new generation of home-created Lego devices. What next? Let your imagination decide…

LEGO my programmable Mindstorm-o

by PJ Hruschak on Oct 21, 2006 at 07:36 PM

LEGOS, makers of the little bricks that have been damaging parents feet for decades, have come out with something else for parents to fear: programmable robots. The Mindstorm Kit, $249.99, centers around the NXT, a programmable brick with a 32-bit processor, four input sensors - light, sound, touch and ultrasonic - and three mini servo motors. The kit, which requires 6 AAA batteries, comes with the NXT brick, 519 LEGO Technic elements, seven 6-wire cords, a display screen and speaker.

It can be used with either a Mac or PC via USB or Bluetooth - control it with your friggin’ phone! - with software downloaded from the site. Some of the suggested uses are as a ball tosser, alarm clock and home security guard. Now maybe kids can learn how to program robots that won’t try to take over the world - damn Cylons.

Microsoft announces first wave of “Games for Windows”

by PJ Hruschak on Sep 21, 2006 at 03:27 PM

Games for Windows logoMicrosoft’s “Games for Windows” (GFW) which brands games for, well, Windows, will launch with LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (LucasArts) and Company of Heroes (THQ). All GFW releases will be packaged in DVD cases and have the new nifty logo on the box. Microsoft claims the games under the label will be easier to install (*chuckle*), support widescreen formatting, compatible with the Xbox 360 controller for Windows, and launchable within Windows Media Center.  Thanks for clearing up which games work on Windows.  Now when you think you’re grabbing the “LEGO Star Wars” game off the shelf, you might actually be grabbing the “Leggy Star Whores” DVD.  Do you see how confused we are now?

LEGO PC, not your father’s computer

by Adam Berger on Feb 20, 2006 at 10:16 PM

Lego PCDo you kids ever want to play on your computer and you are too afraid of seeing the evil blue screen? Well this may be good for the little ones, until they break it apart. PC Magazine talked LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya into making a pc entirely out of LEGOs. The result is pretty cool. And you can actually sign up to win it. You can see more of the artist’s work on his web site.
