iriver upgrades their E100 series

by Natesh Sood on Nov 27, 2008 at 05:21 PM

E100 Season 2

To commemorate 1 million of their E100 MP3 players being sold, iriver has decided to upgrade them by releasing what they call the E100 Season 2.

Basically, the Season 2 doesn’t add that many new upgrades, but each MP3 player is now offered in more colors and more storage capacities.  They all come in different color variations of white, orange, and silver.  Also, they are available in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB models.  Otherwise, expect features and format support to be essentially the same.  One thing I imagine to be different is the current pricing.  Since these models would be a little more advanced, pricing would probably go up a little bit.

by Natesh Sood on Oct 30, 2008 at 05:47 PM

iriver SPINN

As many companies generally lower their prices on their goods in time for the holiday season, iriver has already got a head start on this as they have reduced prices on three of their hottest players.  Thanks to a tip, we know that the three players are the iriver SPINN, the Lplayer, and the E100.  All of these deals will start on November 1st and end on December 31st, more than enough time to complete all of your holiday shopping.

Let’s first begin with iriver’s SPINN.  In case you don’t remember the exact specs here is a recap.  First off, it comes with a 3.3-inch AMOLED touch screen, FM tuner, audio and video playback, picture display, and Bluetooth connectivity.  One of the unique featuers about the SPINN is the way you navigate through the device - using the spindle tool on the side of the device.  Previously, the 4GB version sold for $250 and the 8GB for $290.  However, under iriver’s new deal, you can get the 4GB for $189.99 and the 8GB player for $229.99.

More info after the break.

iriver P20 PMP, M3 GPS to be on display at IFA

by Natesh Sood on Aug 25, 2008 at 07:57 PM

iriver's P20 and M3

In efforts to showcase the best looking portable media player’s and digital audio player’s at IFA, iriver has announced a new PMP and a GPS with media capabilities.

The first device announced is the iriver P20, which was originally shown off at the past CES in January 2008. It sports a 4.1-inch AMOLED touch screen, which is a bigger screen than most PMP’s these days. In addition, the battery life is pretty good, 12 hours for music, 9 hours for video, and up to 8 hours with DMB TV. Although, I do think the battery life when just playing music should be a bit higher, but for video and DMB TV, it’s good. It is expected to come with either an 80GB or 120GB hard drive.

iriver Spinn finally out, sort of

by Mark Rollins on Aug 4, 2008 at 09:28 PM

iRiver Spinn

At CES last January, I dropped by the iriver booth to see some of their newest products.  That is where I first saw the Spinn MP4 Player, and when I say saw, I mean, just saw.  They did not give me the opportunity to try it out, even though they were very excited about one of their latest portable media players.  It was completely under glass, and I had doubts whether the model even worked.

Well, the Spinn has recently been caught on video in action, and it is everything iriver said it would be.  See that cylindrical thing on the right side of the unit?  That is the controller for the Spinn, which allow you “spin” it like an old school radio dial.

However, if you don’t want to “touch that dial”, so to speak, you can always use the 3.2-inch touch sensitive screen which is demonstrated in this video after the jump.

iriver ‘P.ple P10’ PMP, 4-inch touchscreen

by Mark Pascua on May 31, 2008 at 01:04 PM

iRiver P10

Nope that’s not a portable GPS unit. In fact, its the latest portable media player offering from iriver, dubbed the “P.ple P10.“ First introduced at CES 2008, the P10 was expected to release Q1 2008, but iriver was a little late in their delivery. Regardless, the company has now officially launched their iPod Touch rival in two forms: The iRiver P10 Standard ($328) and Pro ($398). Spec-wise, both models sport a 600MHz processor running a stripped down version of Windows CE, 4-inch TFT touch screen, 800x480 pixel resolution, e-book reader, and a 33GB hard drive. Both models also support PDF, Word and Excel files, and can playback Flash, MPEG, WMA, XivD, MP3, and WAV file formats. However, the P10 Pro adds an electronic dictionary (in English, Chinese, and Japanese) and a DMB digital TV tuner that’s only usable in Korea (so, I doubt this will make it Stateside).
