Lenovo’s S9, S10 IdeaPads hit the FCC

This latest FCC showing comes not as not much of a surprise, but seems to almost be a formality, a right of passage so to speak. We have already seen the IdeaPad S9 and S10 a few times, but at least this listing makes them a little more official.
An interesting item to note that has come from this particular listing is that it covers both the S9 and S10 IdeaPad, and it also has just one User Guide, which just goes to show how little difference there will be between the two models. The main difference of course would be the display size. The S9 has an 8.9-inch display while the S10 has the slightly larger 10-inch display.
Otherwise things seem pretty standard here although there is a nice “hard drive/RAM panel” on the bottom of the notebooks, which would lead one to believe that both of those items will be easily serviced by the end-user. Keep reading to check out a few of the dissection images…
Lenovo U8 makes its official launch at Beijing Olympics, Athletes distracted

Some of you might remember two weeks ago when we said that we would keep you posted on the Lenovo IdeaPad U8.
Well, it has been officially launched at the Olympics! I guess there is no better place to launch Chinese technology than in Beijing right now, right?
Lenovo makes the IdeaPad S9 official, for the Hong Kong market

Lenovo has just offered up an official site detailing the pricing and specs of their new IdeaPad Lite S9 netbook. They have also done something a little unique with the netbook, of course I am not sure how many buyers would take advantage of the offer, but hey at least its different. Lenovo has decided to sell the IdeaPad Lite S9 for HKD 2,899 (around $371 US) if its purchased as one, however they are offering a bulk discount when you purchase in quantities of three. With that the pricing will drop down to HKD 1,933 (around $247 US), which is actually a pretty nice savings.
Otherwise the specs are pretty close to most of the netbook models that we have been seeing lately and include an 8.9-inch display, 1.6GHz Intel N270 Atom processor, 512MB of RAM, a 4GB SSD and will be running Linux. In addition the IdeaPad Lite S9 will be available in white, red, or pink and also feature Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth, a built-in webcam, a multi-touch trackpad and ship with a 3-cell battery.

Lenovo preps the new IdeaPad U8 mobile internet device

Remember that MID we featured early in February called the Lenovo IdeaPad U8? Back then, the IdeaPad U8 was still in concept stage and several months later the word on the street is that Lenovo is already prepping it for a possible September release. This comes on the heels of the just announced IdeaPad S10.
Like we told you before, the IdeaPad S10 shall have the Intel Atom processor, a 4.9-inch touchscreen display, 3G connectivity, a “trackball”, GPS and will run on a Linux OS. Aside from these details, other information about the IdeaPad U8 are still unknown. We’ll definitely keep an eye for new information on this one.

Lenovo expands IdeaPad range to include Y510, Y710
We’ve known that Lenovo is offering a little new laptop called the IdeaPad U110 for quite some time now. It’s an 11.1-inch widescreen display equipped notebook that’s available in two colors - red or black. But surely Lenovo realized that releasing a few other models with different specs wouldn’t hurt anyone, not to mention the sales of their laptops, right? Well, they did. And in fact, not only are they releasing a similar notebook to the IdeaPad U110, they’re expanding IdeaPad into a full range of new laptops. And the good part is that pricing starts at $669. Yes, Mr. Thrifty Consumer, I’m talking to you.
Lenovo’s IdeaPad U110, now available

The IdeaPad U110 from Lenovo is now officially available. The U110 pricing begins at $1,899 and comes in either black or red. Aside from the difference in color which is appropriately named either the U110 - Black or U110 - Red, both models will offer the same specs.
The IdeaPad U110 will come standard with a 1.60GHz Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 processor, 11.1-inch widescreen display, built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, 2GB of RAM, 120 GB hard drive, external dual-layer DVD burner, Wi-Fi, a 4-cell and 7-cell battery and will be running Windows Vista Home Premium.
In addition the U110 also has the standard variety or ports to include three USB, FireWire, VGA-out, Express Card slot, headphone jack, microphone jack and a 6-in-1 card reader.
Currently, although both are available for order, the black model is listing a 2-3 week timeframe before it will ship, while the red will be ready to ship in 3-5 business days.

Lenovo’s U110 IdeaPad ultra-portable coming soon

The Lenovo U110B and U110R will soon be available in the US, or so it would seem based on some recent listings at online retailer J&R. The small, but fully functional notebooks from Lenovo are a little more on the high-end side as compared to the recent rash of low-cost offerings we have been seeing, and would fit more in line with the X300 or MacBook Air.
Both the U110B and U110R offer similar features, but have a different color on the outer shell, the “B” is the black model, while the “R” is the red model. Aside from the color, the notebooks will both feature an 11.1-inch widescreen display with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, 1.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 processor, 3GB of RAM, 120GB hard drive, 1.3-megapixel webcam and be running Windows Vista. The U110 will also include the standard variety of ports and connectivity which include a Wi-Fi 802.11a/g/n, Ethernet, Bluetooth, three USB ports, one Firewire, VGA-out and a built-in card reader.
The laptops weigh in at just 2.3-pounds, are only 0.7-inches high and are reported to have a battery that can offer up to 8-hours of life. Of course with all these goodies comes a decent price tag, the U110 IdeaPad will retail for $1,999.
