Google rolls out a faster, stronger mobile app for the BlackBerry
BlackBerry users who happen to be Google fans as well will have something to be happy about as Google has just launched a new version of its mobile application for the BlackBerry. Promising a stronger, faster and better system, the mobile app promises to give BlackBerry users with the following features; a fast Google search experience where queries can be entered without waiting for the mobile browser to load, easy access to Google search history, Google suggest, easy access to Google products, Google Apps support via direct links and update alerts with links to the download site that would enable users to download the updates directly into their BlackBerry handsets.
If you want to have easy and fast access to Google Maps, Gmail, News and many other Google web products in your BlackBerry handsets, just simply point your BlackBerry’s mobile browser to http://m.google.com and install the app. You can also assign a convenience key to Google mobile app for a faster access to it later on.

Dreamhost: Use Gmail, not our servers
Dreamhost users who have problems with your email server, you might be told to switch to Gmail. With the largest amount of support tickets being email-related, hosting-giant Dreamhost has started to recommend users use Gmail (or more specifically, Google Apps for Domains) as an alternative so they won’t have as many problems. Already having a strong track record, Google’s Google Apps for Domains is a very versatile platform where you can have your Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Talk, and of course, Gmail, all under one virtual roof powered by some of the most reliable servers in the world at Google. Dreamhost has made it easier for users to switch to Gmail by adding a button to use Gmail and it will automatically set up the accounts for you, leaving you with only having to set up the administrator account. Of course, Google Apps for Domains is already available for any domain hosted and/or registered anywhere.

Google Apps users to experience new Gmail features soon
Google has announced that it will be rolling out new Gmail features to Google Apps users soon, following the Gmail’s recent codebase revamp. The new features include an even faster interface, group chat from the browser, streamlined contact manager, colored message labels, improved keyboard shortcuts, and bookmarkable messages and searches. I’m a Google Apps user myself but I don’t know if I should feel excited about this or not. I know none of the keyboard shortcuts except that to send an email quickly, you press the CTRL and ENTER button simultaneously (although I haven’t even tried that in a while so I’m not completely sure about that), I don’t use labels, I chat using YM, and I thought the interface was supposed to be fast anyway. And I’ve set up my Google Apps account to activate new features immediately once they become available to users. So I don’t know if I’ve already been using the new features or not. Either way, if you’re a Google Apps user too, this is great news for you. At least it’s supposed to be.

Google gears up for Google Gears for Mobile
Google has announced its Google Gears for Mobile that allows users to access their mobile Gears-enabled web apps even when there is no Internet connection. Initially, Google Gears was only for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices with Internet Explorer but more and more developers are already using the Gears into their online programs and services, thanks to the developer’s guide Google came up with for the developers.
Finance website Buxfer and web-based office-suite Zoho were the first to use the Google Gears. What is ironic is that Google’s own products don’t support the Gears yet but are currently in the works.
Google on the attack; Microsoft to get sacked?
You must have heard how good Gmail’s filtering is by now right? Personally, I’ve not had a spam message enter my Gmail inbox in some time, now Google is casting for more customers than just its freebie Gmail lovers. Leveraging their Postini purchase, Google wants to bring their ace filtering to big business. Blocking spam, archiving and encrpyting email is just one more way Google is getting into the pockets of big business.
