E-Ten’s Glofiish X610, V900 get re-announced, to be available soon
We first saw E-Ten announced their Glofiish X610 and V900 smartphones about six months back, however until now there has been very little in terms of details. Well it seems that E-Ten has re-announced both models however they have still not announced an exact release date, leaving it as they will be available soon.
The Glofiish X610 is a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE handset and features a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, FM radio, Wi-Fi and GPS. The X610 has 128MB ROM and 64MB SDRAM, will be running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and powered by a 400MHz SC3 2442 Samsung processor.
E-Ten offers up the dual-sim Glofiish DX900
Tired of bringing two phones everywhere you go? Your prayers may have just been answered by E-TEN’s latest offering, the Glofiish DX900.
Most people who carry two separate phones, one for work and one for personal, know how much of a hassle that can be, especially since they probably also carry other devices such as an MP3 player, a notebook, and quite possibly a gaming device. Eliminating even one of these requisite devices without losing anything would be a blessing from the heavens itself.
The DX900 claims to be the first dual-SIM Windows Mobile device that runs both HSDPA 3G data and EDGE. A cool feature is the DX900’s ability to “dual-standby,” meaning both SIM cards are simultaneously active, therefore dismissing the need to switch between active SIM’s.
Under the hood, the unit reportedly runs under a 533 MHz Samsung CPU with 256MB ROM and half that for RAM. The 2.8-inch touchscreen display and the 3-megapixel auto-focus camera are a nice touch. A secondary QVGA camera on the front allows for video calls.
With the dual-SIM option, touchscreen and other features it no wonder that the Glofiish DX900 took home the “Best Choice” award at the 2008 Taiwan Computex show.

E-Ten prepping the Glofiish DX900 dual-SIM smartphone?
A recently surfaced (albeit blurry and slightly unclear) image is showing off what appears to be an upcoming dual-SIM smartphone from E-Ten, dubbed the Glofiish DX900.
Overall the DX900 has a similar appearance as the V900. Feature wise it is expected to offer the two SIM card slots, as well as feature quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, triband UMTS/HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR.
Other features of the DX900 are said to include a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, a 3-megapixel camera with auto focus on the back with a second QVGA camera on the front for video calling, built-in GPS with a SiRF Star III receiver, 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, a microSD card slot for additional storage and FM radio. The DX900 is also expected to be powered by a 533MHz Samsung processor and be running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.
As this is still an unofficial leak, the specs and image, pricing and an exact release date is still unclear, however rumor has it that it will be announced as early as next month during Computex.

Acer set to acquire E-Ten, entering into the smartphone business
While the deal has not been made official just yet, Acer has announced having entering into an agreement to purchase E-Ten. For those unfamiliar, E-Ten is a mobile phone maker, who has been getting well known for their Windows Mobile-based Glofiish smartphone lineup.
It is being reported that the deal is going for $290 million and as of now both Acer and E-Ten have approved the deal. The deal is still awaiting the official government approval before it becomes final. That regulatory approval is expected to come sometime during Q3 2008.

E-Ten Glofiish V900 also available in red
Just yesterday we showed off some pictures of the upcoming Glofiish V900 in both black and blue and now another version, this time in red has turned up. The pictures, which feature the V900 in red take away some of the style that the black version has going for it but still offers a nice looking phone. Of course like other posted pictures, its possible that someone just had a little phone with Photoshop, you can decide for yourself.

E-Ten Glofiish V900 pics
The Glofiish phones seem to be getting nicer and nicer and the V900 is no exception. With some chrome accents around the phone, a nice large touchscreen display and a minimalist approach with buttons it appears to have a solid design going, and at this point that will have to be sufficient because there are not that many solid details know yet.
The V900 is rumored to have onboard TV support to include DVB-H, DVB-T, T-DMB, and DAB. We can also see what appears to be a front-facing camera that should come in handy for video conferencing, which would also lead one to believe that the V900 will be a 3G handset.
