Motorola SLVR L9 slimphone due out Q2 2007

by Doug Berger on Feb 14, 2007 at 02:44 AM

Motorola SLVR L9Motorola is making its presence felt at this year’s 3GSM.  Among the devices they’ve introduced this week is the SLVR L9.  The L9, which follows the SLVR L7 in the company’s lineup, is a GSM phone with GPRS/EDGE class 10 data, and now has even more of a focus on entertainment.

The new L9 has a built-in FM radio with RDS - so you can see the title and artist of the song you’re listening to.  The L9 shows support for MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC+ enhanced, AMR, and WAV.  It also packs A2DP stereo Bluetooth, a 2 megapixel camera with MPEG-4 video recording, microSD and MegaSIM slots, 400 minutes of talk-time, and 350 hours of standby.  The SLVR L9 should be available sometime in the second quarter of this year.

PC FM recorder

InstantFM reocrderWant to listen to radio but don’t like the crappyness of it? You know what I mean—the static, the manual tuning, the fact that you don’t even own a radio anymore (unless you have a Zune). Check out InstantFM.

The InstantFM recorder is a USB dongle that when attached to your computer can be used to tune in and record your favorite FM stations. In addition, the InstantFM can also separate songs from the radio into individual tracks and rename the files appropriately using the Snaptune service. Now you can have the old school broadcast music you want when you are sitting around, waiting for the next Gadgetell podcast.

The InstantFM recorder is available for about $49.
