Limited edition HTC Touch available in four new colors, only if you’re in Singapore

by David Gonzales on Apr 13, 2008 at 09:31 PM

HTC Touch limited editions

An eBay auction for four limited edition HTC Touch handsets is currently in the works, with the lowest bid positioned at a measly 1.05 Singapore dollars ($0.78 US) and the highest bid at a still fairly cheap 151 Singapore dollars ($111.49 US). Proceeds from the sales of these four unique handsets will go straight to the bank of the Children’s Cancer Foundation, which is proof that HTC knows the right way to fairly share its blessings.

Other than being helpful to cancer patients and adding publicity to its HTC Touch handset line, I can’t find any other reason why HTC might want to do something like this? Looking to attract more fashionable users? That could be a good theory. But maybe they just want to show the world that they’re not really all business, all the time. The HTC also knows how to play, and has a bright side. Which is a good sign that the company is currently in good times.

by David Gonzales on Mar 27, 2008 at 05:42 PM

LG KF300 clamshell phone half-closed

We now have additional details about one of the recently announced upcoming LG fashion phones, and this time it’s the LG KF300 that’s put in the spotlight. We now find that the LG KF300 will be a Tri-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE cellphone featuring a 2-megapixel autofocus camera, Flash UI, Vector Font, FM Radio, 10MB of internal memory (expandable with a MicroSD card slot) and a clamshell form factor that’s definitely hip. The KF300 will be the mainstream version of the Korea-market only LG Wine released back in 2007, and will surely attract its own base of phone fashionistas. So if you know one, watch out for it in the next few months.

Motorola Wearable Concepts, a combination of fashion and gadgets

by Darrick Rochili on Jan 2, 2007 at 07:04 PM

Motorola wearable concept future product gadgetNow this is a concept worth exploring further: the Motorola Wearables. It’s an effort to integrate all the common gadgets people have, making sure they communicate and work well together, and act as fashion statements while doing so.

Too often these days we carry around different gadgets which overlap in function, resulting in pockets full of items weighing us down. A PDA in the left pocket, a cell phone in the right pocket, an ultra compact digi-cam in the shirt pocket, MP3 player hanging around the neck, and who knows what else. To make matters worse, oftentimes the overlapping functions don’t provide any way of synchronizing/integrating between the devices, resulting in confusion as to where something is stored.

At the moment, the accessories developed include eye-wear, ear buds, a digital camera, pen, wristband (WDA – Wearable Digital Assistant), and a handheld, which will all interconnect via Bluetooth and be able to share all data. Among some of the cool features are voice recognition on the WDA, 800x600 display on the eye-wear, and the intelli-Pen which can write digitally straight to the WDA. Once the Motorola Wearables concept gets fully developed, it would be a welcome solution to those problems of overlapping and pocket-filling gadgets.

LG-Prada phone: Are gadgets the future of fashion?

by Darrick Rochili on Dec 15, 2006 at 05:01 PM

LG Prada

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to [insert annual fashion event here]. Today, on the runway, we will be presenting the latest gadgets and cool items draped in designer wear. From Louis Vuitton to Prada, from Chanel to Gucci, we present to you the biggest fashion event of the year!”

Can you imagine a future where the glamorous fashion industry shifts the attention from clothing human beings to clothing gadgets? It might just be a reality with the way devices from notebooks to cell phones are starting to get designed by or made from brand-name materials. Take these for example: the Acer Ferrari, Asus Lamborghini, D&G Gold Razr, and coming up, an LG phone by Prada.

I4U: The Prada cell phone is supposed to be a combination of high-end technology and avant-garde design - not just a simple paint job.  The Prada phone is supposed to have no keys, just a touch screen.  The launch of the Prada mobile phone is planned for early 2007. Italy is first.

The next fashion event might not show scantily clad Victoria Secret models anymore, it might just be a cell phone or digital camera coated with diamonds, branded as a Gucci model, being paraded down the runway by some artificial humanoid robot wearing Chanel imitation skin (well, maybe scantily clad female humanoid robots).

Digi-Makeover for Fashion Crazed Teens

by XXNatalie Mayslich on Oct 21, 2006 at 04:02 PM

digi_makeover.jpg

In line with today’s materialistic culture, Radica has released its new product - the Digi Makeover Interactive Make-up Kit. Need a present for a pre-teen girl but unsure of what to buy? No need to brainstorm, this is just the right gift for all those fashion crazy girls. The electronic device features an interactive touch pad and digital camera that plugs directly into a TV. Your teen will be able to take her own picture and try out new hairstyles (and colors), makeup, clothes and accessories. She can even add makeup and jewelry and then save her new looks for future use. The device even has a photo booth mode to show off her latest creations.

Hopefully, the device will curb the dreaded “mom I have nothing to wear” and the “why am i so ugly” conversations. How you ask? Easy. Simply, pull out the Digi-Makeover kit, scroll to her collection of outfits/looks (which I expect will be quite enormous) and suggest she use one of the existing ones. One can only pray that this method works.

Interested? You can buy it at Wal-Mart for just under $60.

Limited edition Sidekick 3

by Adam Berger on Oct 16, 2006 at 09:03 PM

Sidekick 3 limited editionFashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and streetwear giant Lifted Research Group (L-R-G) to create the latest limited edition T-Mobile Sidekick 3.

Diane von Furstenberg made fashion history with her signature jersey wrap dresses. Today, the Diane von Furstenberg brand is internationally recognizable. Exuding a free-spirited independence and straightforward style, the Diane von Furstenberg Sidekick from T-Mobile is dressed in sleek black and features Diane’s signature hot-pink lips. Lifted Research Groups’ slogan is simple, “underground inventive, overground effective.” “Underground inventive” meaning: how something starts out, the beginning, the roots. “Overground effective” meaning: what happens when those roots are cultivated and become strong. L-R-G is the first company to bridge the gap between the skateboarding and urban communities. With an eye toward self-expression, the Lifted Research Group Sidekick from T-Mobile is hidden within the traditional baby tree camouflage and customized with L-R-G’s iconic imagery.

Packed with the same features as the T-Mobile Sidekick 3, the new limited edition T-Mobile Sidekicks will be available in limited quantities and limited prices at select T-Mobile stores beginning Oct. 30.
