Samsung shows off new green phone
A lot of cell phones are thrown away every year (I know I’ve thrown out a few), and eventually end up in landfills, not decomposing like they should be, due to the plastic they are made of. Well, that’s what’s happening now. Samsung wants to change that, though. Samsung has unveiled the E200 Eco, a more environmentally friendly version of the E200. What makes this one different is that it’s shell is made from bio-plastic which is made from corn.
Having not had a chance to actually see the phone, I can’t comment on it’s how trustworthy the bio-plastic is. All bio-plastic I have encountered has been in cup form and has been very flimsy. It’s nice to see Samsung trying though. Given the nature of cell phones, it’s doubtful many will be as environmentally friendly in the years to come. The easiest option, though, would be to make recycling cell phones much easier for consumers. I doubt everyone who gets a new cell phones thinks about what they do with the old one unless they are handing it down to someone else.

Rendered third party case image shows 3G iPhone?
Third party case maker XSKN seems to have taken a cue from the rumored specs of the 3G iPhone. While the phone itself still has not been pictured this rendering offers up a pretty good idea of just what it may look like. Keep in mind the screenshot on this image is a stock display from the original Cingular style pictures, but that sort of makes sense, because like we mentioned the 3G handset has not been seen in public yet.
This could be nothing more than a stunt to get some attention to their website, or it could be an upcoming release that they are hoping to have out quickly after the 3G iPhone itself is released. Either way it does make the iPhone look nice and sleek, not to mention, this is from what we could tell the first case shown for the hopefully soon to be released 3G iPhone.

Dell intro’s super-small, eco-friendly bamboo Green desktop PC
At the Fortune Green conference, Dell CEO, Michael Dell was kind enough to show off their latest attempt at an environmentally friendly PC. Though still in the development process at the moment, Dell has begun boasting of the PC’s potential features. Purportedly, the device uses 70% less energy than most other desktop models and it is also 81% smaller than most desktop PC’s. Additionally, the mini PC will be made of recyclable items, thus helping reduce its carbon footprint and saving the world.
Okay, so saving the world may be a little bold, but it is a cool idea, and its nice to see a big company making an effort. The device has yet to be named, but the price expected to be between $500 and $700. Keep reading for a few more images of Dell’s eco-friendly PC…
