Kodak intro’s the 5-inch Easyshare P520 digital frame
Kodak has unveiled its new Easyshare P520 digital frame featuring easy photo navigation through Kodak’s Quick Touch Border technology. This feature lets users scroll through their pictures while at the same time keeping fingerprints off the frame’s viewing screen and allowing the frame to remain smudge-free. The Quick Touch Border also lets users to create, edit and view slideshows at the touch of a fingertip.
The P520 has a 5-inch display with a 5:4 aspect ratio allowing for a vibrant color and crisp display. In addition, the frame is also loaded with the Kodak Easyshare Software Digital Frame Edition which allows easy loading of pictures directly from the user’s PC, easy browsing and editing of photo albums, and a drag-and-drop functionality for transferring pictures when creating slideshows.
Kodak intro’s the 15x zoom, 10MP EasyShare Z1015 IS camera
Kodak has announced their new point-and-shoot EasyShare Z1015 IS digital camera. Geared for the aspiring photographer who prefers to have both automatic and manual control, this camera boasts of a 10-megapixel resolution, a Schneider-Kreuznach lens with 15x optical zoom, 28mm wide-angle lens, 3-inch LCD screen and high ISO mode from 60 to 3200.
In addition, the Kodak Z1015 IS captures still images in high-definition quality at 16:9 aspect ratio and 720p videos at 30fps. Other features of this digital camera include optical image stabilization, face detection, perfect touch technology, text and sound tagging, and multimedia slideshow feature the runs on your camera’s LCD.
The Kodak EasyShare Z1015 IS will be available in US retail outlets sometime in September and is expected to retail for $349.95

Motorola makes the Motozine ZN5 official
So, that new Motorola phone touting a 5-megapixel Kodak camera that we told you about not so long ago is actually true. Motorola has officially announced the new phone as the MOTOZINE ZN5, or more simply the ZINE ZN5. And like we told you before, this phone would feature a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus, a Xenon flash, and some settings that would make it a good camera when shooting in low-light environment.
And since the ZINE ZN5 will have a Kodak camera, it goes without saying that it would have direct link to the Kodak online image gallery for viewing, storing and sharing with friends and family. In addition, it would also come with Kodak Easyshare Software to help users organize, edit, share, store and find photos on their PC’s.
Kodak releases the M820, M1020 digital photo frames
Kodak has released two new digital photo frames, the 8-inch M820 and the 10-inch M1020. In addition to displaying photo’s both frames can also play videos and MP3’s, have two memory card slots and has Kodak’s quick touch border with back lighting.
Kodak’s Quick Touch Border with back lighting helps users in viewing and scrolling digital photos. It prevents the main display from getting smudged by the user’s finger. To make it even easier to navigate through the photos, the digital photo frames touch panel is equipped with yellow lighting illuminates to tell users which part of the digital frame to touch. The digital frames also allow users to create, edit and view the photos in slideshows.
Kodak at CES: Wireless digital frames, digital cameras and facial search tech
Eastman Kodak has a few new products as well as a few oldies to show off at CES 2007.
For a little something new, they have wireless Easyshare Digital Picture Frames. Available in 8 in. and 10 in., (7 in. and 8 in. for non-WiFi versions), they have interchangeable faceplates and a remote control. They also have two new digital cameras, the Kodak Easyshare V1003 and V703, that feature 3x optical zoom and 10- and 8-megapixel resolution, respectively. Finally, they are demonstrating a new Facial Search app that will help to search for images buried deep in your PC’s file system. More coming on all three of these.
As for something old, Kodak is showing off:
- The Picture Kiosk family of self-service print kiosks (currently available in more than 85,000 worldwide retail locations) including Bluetooth-enabled models that allow you to print images from camera phones as well as digital cameras (oh, THAT won’t be hackable at all)
- Easyshare cameras, including the C653 Zoom Digital Camera
- Easyshare Photo Printer PP350 with Bluetooth

Kodak launches imaging technologies for the future
On Kodak’s fifth anniversary of their EasyShare system, the first easy consumer solution to transfer digital photos, Kodak is announcing more innovative products. Most notably is the world first, dual lens Bluetooth enabled, 6 megapixel, 10X optical zoom. Other unique technologies are facial recognition and auto albuming software, to radically enhance their imaging experience.
The KODAK EASYSHARE V610 dual lens digital camera is the world’s smallest 10X optical zoom camera at less than an inch thick. (38 - 380 mm equiv.) The camera combines two SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH C-VARIOGON all-glass, lenses to deliver such the extreme zoom. The EASYSHARE V610 model is also in the first batch of camera to incorporate Bluetooth after Nikon), making it simpler to instantly share pictures with people nearby. Pictures can be sent up to 30 feet away as well as be received on the camera’s 2.8-inch LCD screen. The KODAK EASYSHARE V610 zoom digital camera will be available worldwide in May and will have an MSRP of US$449 in the U.S. Read more of Kodak’s innovations.
Also introduced EASYSHARE-ONE, the world’s first Wi-Fi consumer digital camera, and the only camera in the world from which people can e-mail pictures. The new KODAK EASYSHARE-ONE 6 MP digital camera combines the power of taking, sharing, organizing, and printing pictures into a single, highly innovative product. Its new WISPr (Wireless Internet Service Provider recommendation) protocol increases the number of hot spot locations to connect anytime, anywhere, wirelessly. The EASYSHARE-ONE 6 MP camera will be available in the U.S. beginning this summer for US$299 (MSRP). The Wi-Fi card is an optional accessory US$99.
Continuing its commitment to digital innovation, Kodak unveiled today a host of digital technologies that will transform the consumer digital experience within the next few years. For example, facial recognition software will automatically sort through thousands of photos to find pictures of friends or family. Context sorting and auto-albuming will make archiving one-button simple, and KONGA sharing software will enable instant sharing of images between family and friends as interactive as instant messaging in a KONGA-like line.
