AT&T branded Nokia E71 spotted in-the-wild

AT&T branded Nokia E71 spotted in-the-wild

It looks like AT&T will soon be getting the S60-powered Nokia E71, of course there will be a slight re-branding—it has been dubbed the Nokia E71x.  Based on the decent reputation that the E71 already has, we can only hope that any changes, and AT&T bloatware will be kept to a minimum.  Currently, as an official announcement has not yet been made, this is still in the rumor stage. That said, these images (above and below) appear to be pretty accurate.  So far the release date is still unknown.  As for the pricing, rumor has it that the E71x will be priced around $150 on a 2-year agreement.

Rogers announced Nokia E71 upcoming availability

Rogers has just confirmed the upcoming availability of the Nokia E71 smartphone.  The details are still pretty light, so far Rogers has simply stated that the “highly anticipated Nokia E71 smartphone will be coming soon to Canada.“  Still unknown is the price and release date, but the brief announcement may be reason enough for Rogers customers looking for a 3G handset that is not a Bold or an iPhone to hold off just a little bit.

As for specs, the Nokia E71 features a 320 x 240 display, 128MB RAM, 256MB ROM, a microSD card slot, aGPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, microUSB, a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash and a full QWERTY keyboard.

New Nokia E63 hits the scene trying to un-Blackberry the masses

by Jodie Andrefski on Nov 12, 2008 at 02:14 PM

nokia_e63Following on the heels of its big brother the E71, Nokia just released its newest in their E-Line, the E63.  It’s a candybar style phone shooting to bring “the QWERTY keyboard form factor to a broader audience at a great price” according to the Nokia website

Unfortunately, Nokia isn’t telling too much about the inner workings of the phone or what all makes it different from the E71 quite yet.  What we do know is that what Nokia is using as its big draw is being able to switch back and forth with a single key press between the corporate e-mail and calendar mode with the personal mode which features e-mail, websites and photos.  Nokia also serves up 1GB of cloud storage on Ovi when you buy the E63.  And of course, there is the obvious Wi-Fi connectivity. . . .

It didn’t take Nokia too long to release its latest E-series phone, the E71 in the US market after announcing it last month. Being touted as the world’s slimmest QWERTY smartphone, the Nokia E71 is now available in various US retailers and at Nokia’s Flagship store in Chicago and New York. Retailing at an unsubsidized price of around $500, the E71 boasts features that make it worthy of the Nokia E-series branding.

New Nokia E-series phone goes… narrow?

by Elisabeth Young on Jun 18, 2008 at 05:47 PM

New Nokia E-series phone goes… slim?
The Nokia E series has been known for feature-packed offerings for business professionals. With the new E71, the Finnish mobile giants promise all that you would come to expect out of an E-series phone – the pleasant surprise is that it’s one of the thinnest phones Nokia has ever produced.

As Nokia finally gives out details of its new QWERTY phone, you will see that the slim design doesn’t necessarily compromise on features – there’s still WiFi connectivity, HSDPA, A-GPS, a 3.2 megapixel camera,  AND the smaller front-facing camera for video chat. While the E71 gives up a little on screen size from its predecessor the E66 – 2.36-inch QVGA screen, just a fraction of an inch smaller – the E71 manages to put in an extra battery to its package, giving it a relative advantage in talk time.

Most people who have come to love the E-series will immediately notice the smaller screen, but will actually be happy to find out that it doesn’t compromise on resolution (same number of pixels as the E62). And with the extremely pocket-able size, the E71 is sure to be hit.

A rumored $500-ish release price isn’t really that friendly, and Nokia doesn’t have any info on carrier subsidies just yet. But it will be available with full 3G US bands sometime Q3 of this year, so watch out for it.

Nokia’s E71 rumored to be available in white

by Robert Nelson on Jun 14, 2008 at 06:08 AM

Nokia E71 in White

In addition to the standard black coloring that we have been seeing, some newly surfaced images of the Nokia E71 are showing the device in white. The back of the handset along the top and bottom are white along with the keypad on the front. Overall its not an really bright or overbearing white, more subtle.

As we already know, the E71, at just 10mm thick will mark the “slimmest” business device in the Nokia lineup. It is expected to feature such goodies as built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and even a 3.2-megapixel camera.

While an official announcement has not yet come, it is expected to be officially announced next week during the Nokia Connection in Singapore. Keep reading to check out another pic of the E71 in white…

Nokia’s E66, E71 to launch June 16?

by Robert Nelson on Jun 9, 2008 at 10:33 AM

We saw those demo pages come up recently for both of the new E-series devices from Nokia, which told us nothing more than to expect a release announcement coming soon. While the official word coming from Nokia is still limited to a solid no comment, industry sources are calling for a release as early as June 16, which is next week.

Both the E66 and E71 will feature a GPS as well as a 3.2-megapixel camera. The E66 is a slider style handset, while the E71 has a more traditional smartphone style with a full QWERTY keyboard.

Also, as we expected, the E66 and E71 demo pages have already been pulled, but save those links because they are likely to be up in time for Monday’s expected release.

Nokia’s E66, E71 online demos hit the web

by Robert Nelson on Jun 9, 2008 at 05:58 AM

Nokia's E66, E71

Online demos for the Nokia E66 and E71 have recently surfaced and offer up a very good look as to what we can expect once these handsets are officially available. With these great leaks, I would not hesitate to think that these demos will not last online very long, until Nokia gets wise and pulls them down. Better check them out while you can. Hopefully this leak means that we can expect the official release coming soon.
