iriver upgrades their E100 series

To commemorate 1 million of their E100 MP3 players being sold, iriver has decided to upgrade them by releasing what they call the E100 Season 2.
Basically, the Season 2 doesn’t add that many new upgrades, but each MP3 player is now offered in more colors and more storage capacities. They all come in different color variations of white, orange, and silver. Also, they are available in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB models. Otherwise, expect features and format support to be essentially the same. One thing I imagine to be different is the current pricing. Since these models would be a little more advanced, pricing would probably go up a little bit.

iriver slashes prices on SPINN, Lplayer, and E100 in time for holidays

As many companies generally lower their prices on their goods in time for the holiday season, iriver has already got a head start on this as they have reduced prices on three of their hottest players. Thanks to a tip, we know that the three players are the iriver SPINN, the Lplayer, and the E100. All of these deals will start on November 1st and end on December 31st, more than enough time to complete all of your holiday shopping.
Let’s first begin with iriver’s SPINN. In case you don’t remember the exact specs here is a recap. First off, it comes with a 3.3-inch AMOLED touch screen, FM tuner, audio and video playback, picture display, and Bluetooth connectivity. One of the unique featuers about the SPINN is the way you navigate through the device - using the spindle tool on the side of the device. Previously, the 4GB version sold for $250 and the 8GB for $290. However, under iriver’s new deal, you can get the 4GB for $189.99 and the 8GB player for $229.99.

iriver E100 sheds speakers, goes aluminum then returns as the E150, E200

The popular iriver PMP, the E100, is set to undergo a makeover and should return as a brand new player, either the E150 or the E200. One of the main differences that you will notice between the E100 and the new version, is the difference in the exterior. It will lose the plastic, and return with a nicer aluminum outside, something reminiscent of the silver iPod Nano.
Upon turning on the device, you will also notice the LCD screen to be much brighter and better than the original. Another notable difference, which you may like, or may not, is that the E100 is going to lose the two miniature speakers located on the back of the device. Now, I kind of like MP3 players with built-in speakers, I don’t always like having to use headphones whenever I want to listen to music. However, sometimes people blast their mini speakers and especially if it’s in public it gets annoying. So this goes both ways, depending on your personal preferences and how annoying this is for you.
So far, this is all that is known about the E150 or the E200, expect these to be available in the summer. Stay tuned to find out more when the news becomes available.

iRiver shipping E100 in Europe

One of the proudly showcased iRiver PMP’s at CES, the E100 is set to start shipping today in Europe. So far, it seems to be a basic PMP, nothing too fancy, but still a nice one overall.
Basically, it comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA screen and it supports many audio and video formats. These formats include FLAC, MP3, ASF, OGG, WMA, WMV9, and XVID. Additionally, it comes with a nice integrated FM tuner and stereo speakers. So far, there are only 2 versions the 2GB and the 8GB. This isn’t a lot of internal storage, but more memory can be added on via microSD expansion. You can get your very own iRiver E100 with the 2GB starting at $119 and the 8GB selling for $194.
