CTL 2Go PC now available for pre-order
CTA officially announced the 2Go PC back in early April and just now the first pre-order options are beginning to surface. Amazon being the first, currently has the 2Go PC available as a pre-order in either the Windows XP Home version for $469 or the Linux version for $399. Currently Amazon is not listing any estimated time as to when they will be ready to ship.
Aside from the obvious difference in the OS, specs are the same across both models. The 2Go PC from CTL will be available in a lovely shade of “bone/grey” and feature a 9-inch display with a 800 x 480 resolution, a 900MHz Celeron processor, 512MB of RAM, 40GB hard drive and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. The 2Go PC will also include a built-in card reader, built-in 0.3-megapixel webcam as well as have USB and an Ethernet port for added connectivity.

CTL IL1 Netbook, just like the Eee PC, but it costs $50 less
While the Eee PC seems to have launched this ultra-portable race to see who could build the best and lowest priced ultra-portable. Since then we have seen more models than we can remember at this point, some good, some bad, some just plain copies of other models.
Well CTL has just introduced the IL1 Netbook, a seemingly worthy competitor. Overall it is basically the Eee PC, spec wise, but has a nicer price tag at $350. The IL1 features a 7-inch LED-backlit display, along with a 1GHz Via processor, 1GB of RAM, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. Users will also have the option of either a 4GB SSD or a 60GB hard drive and it will run either Linux or Windows XP. In addition it has the usual array of ports and connectivity to include two USB 2.0, Ethernet, 56K modem, microphone-in, headphone-out, 3-in-1 card reader and VGA.

CTL makes the 2go PC official; coming soon to classrooms, Amazon
CTL has officially announced their Netbook variant, the 2go PC. Initially the “lightweight, drop-proof computers” will be destined for the hands of elementary and middle schoolers, but CTL was kind enough to let the rest of us know that they will also be available through Amazon. Sadly there was not any mention of when, but on the good news front they will be retailing for as little as $300 and topping out around $500.
Aside from the pricing and Amazon mention the specs are remaining the same as we previously mentioned. The 2go PC will be running either Windows XP or Linux and featuring an Intel Celeron M processor with the Intel 915GMS chipset, a 9-inch display with an 800 x 480 resolution, up to 1GB of RAM, up to a 40GB Seagate drive, Wi-Fi as well as a built-in card reader and webcam and the usual array of ports.
