Peep show pics of the Nintendo Wii-mote

by Adam Berger on Nov 1, 2006 at 04:36 PM

Unboxing peep show nintendo wii remote

IGN had a chance to peep show the wii-mote (that would be the remote like controller) for the upcoming Nintendo Wii. We only snagged two pics. I am surprised how much the packaging mimics Apple’s new iPod nano packaging. The controller looks cool to me, but make sure you go over there and check out the rest.

What do you think, is it cool or an awkward way of gaming?

Check out another pic…

E3 2006: Wii classic controller

by Adam Berger on May 10, 2006 at 06:18 AM

Wiitroller

Well somehow they left this one out of the press conference, the Wiitroller. This will go along with the Wiimote and nun-chuck that have already been displayed and used on stage. It is not clear how the controller will interact with the system and other controllers already out there. Will it connect to the bottom on the Wiimote or standalone? And why does it show a cable? Does it have a gyro sensor in it, what about a speaker?

I guess we will just wait to keep waiting. As Reggie said, they were not going to disclose everything all at once.

Update: Removed the rumor tag and title. This controller was confirmed via Nintendo and is included as an image in the press kit. Looking to see what the Wiimote can already do? Click on.

E3 2006: PlayStation images and system comparison

by Adam Berger on May 9, 2006 at 07:07 AM

PS3

Here are the first official shots of the PS3 system, controller, and hardware package options. Sony failed to mention that the new controller would lack the vibration in favor of the new gyration sensors, of course making it lighter than previous controllers. They also left out the fast that the 20 GB $499 system will lack memory card expandability (no Memory Stick, SD, or MMC), Wi-Fi, and HDMI output, making this system a really sh!ty option. Check out the controller and spec chart.
