Verizon Wireless LG Chocolate 3

It looks like those who are eagerly awaiting the release of the LG Chocolate 3 with Verizon will be able to get their hands on one a little earlier than expected. Verizon has announced that the Chocolate 3 will be available at Verizon retail stores, Circuit City and online beginning July 13, which is a full day ahead of schedule. The LG Chocolate 3 will be $129.99, which is after a $50 mail-in-rebate and comes along with a two-year agreement.

by Indraneel Purohit on Jul 7, 2008 at 08:55 AM

LG Chocolate 3 for Verizon Wireless

We told you about the LG Chocolate 3 (VX8560), but since then, a pricing scale and release date have since surfaced.  To recap quickly, the 3rd edition of LG’s high selling Chocolate will be wrapped in a clamshell form factor, unlike the previous two iterations which were candybar-styled.  The LG Chocolate 3 will have 1GB of internal memory, with up to 8GB of additional space through microSD cards. The phone’s external display is 1.76-inch (176x220) and the internal display is 2.2-inch with a QVGA resolution. Other features include a 2-megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, Bluetooth (with stereo support).  Finally, the Chocolate 3 will have an FM transmitter, so you can listen to your music on any FM radio.

The price is expected to be $129 after $50 rebate with a 2-year contact, $199 after $50 rebate with a 1-year contract, and $299 at full retail price.  The LG Chocolate 3 will drop on July 14th and will be available exclusively for Verizon. Keep reading for more pictures.

LG unveils the light blue Chocolate 3

by Robert Nelson on Jun 25, 2008 at 08:53 PM

LG Chocolate 3 in Light Blue and Black

We saw the original LG Chocolate 3 announcement come along with the Dare and Decoy, but at the time it looked as if it were going to be available only in black. Well thankfully LG believes we should have some color options with our phones, although personally I am not digging the light blue, the metal trim and music wheel give it a nice overall look. As we have already seen the Chocolate 3 takes a little different style, moving from the candybar style to a new clamshell design, however the features remain solid, and the Chocolate 3 should do as well as the original models. It is still expected to be available beginning next month.

Verizon announces the LG Dare, Decoy, Chocolate 3

by Robert Nelson on Jun 12, 2008 at 12:56 PM

Verizon's summer LG line-up

Verizon has announced a set of new LG handsets to include the Dare, Decoy and Chocolate 3. The new phones, while officially announced still have not had any pricing information revealed.

First up we have the LG Dare, a V CAST capable touchscreen-based handset that will feature 3G support, a 3.2-megapixel still and video camera, built-in photo editing tools as well as come loaded with multimedia functionality. The Dare will be available later this month.

Next we have the LG Decoy, which as we have already seen, comes with the built-in Bluetooth headset on the back, which will help to keep it charged when you are not actively using it, and should also help keep you from misplacing it. The Decoy is a slider style handset that feature a five-way directional joystick that will make it easier to navigate the menu’s and take advantage of Verizon’s V Cast and VZ Navigator services. Expect the Decoy to be available on June 16.

LG announces new Black Label Series handset, up for worldwide release soon

by Arnold Zafra on Apr 7, 2008 at 11:35 PM

LG Black Label Handset

LG Korea has announced a shiny new Black mobile phone which is expected to be released under its Black Label Series of handsets. The new LG phone, which is still without a name, is a slim slider style phone and could probably be a follow up to the LG Chocolate or LG Shine, or perhaps even a new model of its own. There’s not too many details on the LG announcement about the new phone except the press image and a mention that it will have a 5-megapixel camera. In addition, the new LG phone would also sport a carbon fiber and tampered glass body finish.

The new LG phone is slated for worldwide release on April 24th. Until then, we could only guess as to how LG is going to name this new handset.

Verizon unveils Strawberry Chocolate and Fire KRZR

by Glenn Wolsey on Feb 6, 2007 at 07:00 AM

verizonnewphones.jpg
Just released by Verizon, new Strawberry Chocolate and Fire KRZR mobile phones. These two phones are timed perfectly, and ideal for Valentines day. Wives and girlfriends should love these phones due to the slim style, music features, and the pink/red colors. I expect these to be a huge hit over Valentines day, especially paired against the “old news” Motorola RAZR phone.

There are no changes to the phones other than their glossy new colors. They both cost the same price, $99 under a two-year contract agreement.

CES Unveiled: LG shows off headsets, chocolates, and a speaker

by Adam Berger on Jan 7, 2007 at 03:05 PM

LG Headset bluetooth
LG was showing off their line of mobile phones and accessories at tonight’s last night’s CES Unveiled. While we have played with many of the handsets before (the Chocolate, VX8600, enV...) there were a few bluetooth headsets that we had not yet touched—but we can’t say that anymore. We also threw in a runway shot of all the flavors of the chocolate family as well as an extremely dusty micro DVD player system.

LG Chocolate Platinum passes FCC

by Doug Berger on Nov 16, 2006 at 12:41 AM

LG Chocolate Platinum KE800If you’ve got as big of a sweet-tooth as Adam, then you’ll want to know that LG is getting ready to announce a new version of their popular Chocolate phone - since it passed through the FCC’s approval process recently.  The KE800, whose street name is Chocolate Platinum, has quite a few upgrades from the original phone which we mentioned here.  The only real new news here is that it passed the FCC.  So...as a refresher: The most notable change is that this guy is headed for a GSM carrier, meaning T-Mobile or Cingular (my money’s on Cingular).  The phone also sports 256 MB internal flash memory, microSD slot, and plays MP3, AAC, and WAV formatted music files.  It also features a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus and macro-mode.  Oh yeah, and it has a sweet ribbon around it that says “Platinum.” That’s so gangster.

Unlike the music/media targeted Chocolate phone, the LG Shine will be targeted to someone who is looking for a stylish handset that is different from the rest and willing to pay for more premium features.

Continue for the hands-on video.
