Sony Ericsson's 8-megapixel C905 makes an FCC appearance

The recently announced Sony Ericsson C905 has made the required FCC appearance.  We have already seen the official announcement, so unfortunately we are not able to offer anything new in terms of specs, but the good news is that it seems to be on the way to an actual release.

As of now, we are expecting the C905 to be available sometime during Q4.  An exact date has not yet been announced.  To recap, the C905 is going to feature a massive 8-megapixel camera, which comes along with a 2.4-inch QVGA display, Wi-Fi, GPS, an accelerometer and much more.

In the meantime, we can do nothing more than sit back, maybe stare at the above FCC image just a little bit, and dream about the nice pictures that we will be able to take.

Sony Ericsson C905 live images leaked

Sony Ericsson C905

A set of three live images that were recently posted have come courtesy of an Arabic SE fan site, SE4M.com and they are showing some nice details of the soon-to-be released Sony Ericsson C905.

As we have already learned the C905 is going to have a nice overall feature set, which includes an 8-megapixel camera, and judging from these images the phone will have some nicely placed camera controls as well.

The phone is a little on the thick side, coming in at about 0.79-inches, which still small is a little thicker than you would expect for a little slider style phone, of course with an 8-megapixel camera the extra thickness could be made up for with the lack of having to carry around another point and shoot.

Sony Ericsson’s C905 Shiho revealed

by Robert Nelson on Jun 11, 2008 at 07:15 AM

Sony Ericsson Shiho C905

Coming just about the official announcement, which is expected to be on June 17, the Sony Ericsson Shiho has been outed. The Shiho, which is officially named the C905 is a slider style handset that is expected to sport an 8.1-megapixel camera. The camera, aside from the high megapixel will also offer auto focus, xenon flash, face recognition, image stabilization, BestPic, red-eye reduction and Smart Contrast. In addition the camera has support for both audio or video and even includes a video stabilizer feature.

Now aside from the camera, which sounds like it will make this handset worth the purchase by itself, but there are some other very worthwhile features as well. The C905 is also going to feature a 2.4-inch QVGA display, Wi-Fi, built-in GPS, accelerometer, TV-out, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.1, Exchange ActiveSync as well as support for UMTS and HSDPA.

The C905 us expected to be available in Q4 2008 and will be available in copper gold, ice silver or night black. It will also come with an included 2GB memory stick, which with those large megapixel images could prove to be useful. No word yet on any expected pricing.
