Brando rolls out new Sport In-Ear MP3 player

by Natesh Sood on Jul 1, 2008 at 02:02 PM

Sport In-Ear MP3 Player

Brando is back, and this time its with a new type of earbud/MP3 player, that at first glance seem pretty cool. The player offers an around the head style of headphones with the actual MP3 player built into the headphones. They offer 1GB of internal memory and have support for MP3, WMA and WAV file formats. The main point of earbuds like these is purely for exercise purposes. They allows you to not have to worry about carrying an MP3 player; just the earbuds. Also, they are lightweight, weighing only 20g, meaning it would fit in easily and wouldn’t cause any strain on the ears to hold it in place. Additionally, it comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which provides up to 8 hours of continuous playback.

It is already on sale for $22, and comes in two different colors, red and blue. This looks to be a good idea to those who exercise frequently and look to carry nothing with them other than earbuds.

Brando finds a teeny tiny mouse

by Elisabeth Young on May 23, 2008 at 10:49 PM

Brando launches world’s smallest 2.4Ghz wireless mouse - probably
Brando, e-tailer of products that you didn’t even know existed—and some that probably shouldn’t—just launched a lightweight 2.4Ghz wireless mouse which weighs only 32g.

Known for its gimmicky products such as a wireless USB missile launcher and Bluetooth PDA stylus headset, Brando now introduces its latest mouse, which it boldly proclaims as “probably the world’s smallest 2.4GHz wireless mouse.”

The device features:

Brando’s 3-port USB hub, no power brick required

by Robert Nelson on Apr 27, 2008 at 04:52 PM

Brando USB 3-Port Hub + Mini-USB Cable

Brando, while they may offer some very off-the-wall products also have some items that are very useful. The latest falling in to the useful category is the USB 3-Port Hub + Mini-USB Cable, which as the name implies is a USB hub that that offers three regular USB ports as well as one mini USB port.

The nice part here, aside from the low $12 price tag, is that the hub does not require any additional power, it gets the required power from two USB ports on the computer. Looks to me like it would make the perfect additional cable for the road warrior type, now they can plug in up to 3 USB devices instead of two and also charge another with the mini USB.

Brando Ultra-Smart Cable; the stylish looking USB charger, microSD reader

by Debbie Cook on Apr 11, 2008 at 06:02 AM

Brando Ultra-Smart Cable - USB charger/microSD card reader

Brando Ultra-Smart Cable – USB charger/microSD card reader is such a huge name for such a tiny device. Unlike its name this device is very compact and is available in an array of colors which makes this a stylish way to keep data, music and photos at your fingertips.

Orange, gray, blue, green and black make up the collection. Each one reminds me of a baby rattle – but the Smart Cable (as I will call it) appears to be a toy for big boys and girls. You can charge your cell phone or other USB device, read your microSD card and even exchange data between devices (when microSD card is onboard).

The Brando Ultra-Smart Cable is designed to hang on a key chain or as a cell phone strap. It could actually hang on any device with a wrist strap hole. Loosing pieces should not be a problem. There are only two. It is difficult to see everything in a photo but the cable – hence the name, has one end with the mini USB plug and the other with an ordinary size USB plug. From what I can tell the microSD slot is directly below that. There is a small plastic center piece that apparently snaps the two cable ends together while it’s just hanging around.

I like interesting little gadgets like this. Would I use it - absolutely.  Would I strap it to my cell phone - not. The $14.00 price is reasonable in my opinion.

Brando’s portable USB mouse speaker looks like, feels like, but isn’t really a mouse

by David Gonzales on Mar 15, 2008 at 06:31 AM

Brando USB Mouse Speaker

The point of anything that doesn’t work as advertised always evades me, and the case of this USB mouse speaker is no exception. Worth $14 and an ounce of your patience, Brando’s USB mouse speaker will play music from any iPod, PC, laptop, CD player, mobile phone or any other compatible sound source via a standard 3.5mm plug. It has a handy switch for turning it On/Off, as well as for adjusting the volume. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers it, and a complimentary neck strap is even included in the box for added “convenience” and “portability”. It’s got the basic features of your average portable speaker covered so far, but one thing it doesn’t do it act as a real computer mouse. I guess the exterior was done all in the name of style, then. If you can call its violet “headlights” stylish.

Brando portable solar charger powers your gadgets with the sun

by David Gonzales on Mar 11, 2008 at 04:42 AM

Brando Solar Charger

One of the main reasons why I’m holding off on buying the new Nokia N95 is because I don’t want to get frustrated every time I run out of batteries while I’m on the road. I consider myself a power user and I know for sure that with all the features the N95 is packing under the hood, I’ll suck the batteries dry before I’m even halfway home. But then Brando, who seems to have been reading my mind lately, has come up with this very helpful new gadget that will definitely be included in my to-buy list next week. It’s a solar-powered key chain cellphone charger, that can um, charge you cellphone using solar power.

For only $22.00, you get the convenience of never having to worry about where to next plug in your cellphone charger for power. Plus, it’s summer so this will come extremely handy while you’re up and about, hanging with the ladies in the beach. Just don’t get it wet, though.

Brando Wireless Keyboard with built-in touchpad, Marlon not included

by Indraneel Purohit on Mar 10, 2008 at 02:47 PM

Brando Wireless Keyboard with Touchpad

The selection of wireless keyboards is enormous nowadays, but very few of those have an included trackpad.  Brando, with its latest Wireless USB Keyboard, aims to change that. Its main draw, obviously, is its touchpad on the right side of the keyboard. That is exactly what it sounds like, a laptop sized touchpad on the keyboard, complete with mouse buttons for all your clicking purposes. Brando’s keyboard also features 11 hotkeys, which can control your web browser and media player, among other things. A neat feature is the ability to let it run via USB, when within range, this conveniently saves battery life. The USB Wireless Keyboard retails for $57 and is available now. Beware, Mac users, it is not compatible with your machine out of the box.
