Averatec unveils its second All-in-One PC; the Atom-powered A1

Averatec’s first venture into the All-in-One PC market may not have been that successful because of its high price. Hence, the company is trying its hands once again with the release of the A1 all-in-one PC. And what better way to come up with a cheaper All In One PC but to have it powered by Intel’s Atom processor.
And so with the A1 PC, we’re looking at a cross breed between nettop and a normal desktop boasting of an 18.4-inch display with a resolution of 1680 x 945 and a 16:9 aspect ratio. This All In One PC will be powered by a 1.6GHz Atom processor and will have 1GB of memory and 160GB of hard drive. Averatec also put in Wi-Fi as a standard feature plus a 1.3-megapixel camera. In addition, the A1 PC will only be running Windows XP out of the box, sorry Linux fans.
Averatec intro’s the generic “All-In-One PC”

Averatec has just announced their all-in-one PC and whether they just wanted people to be sure what they were buying or could not think of a better name, the simply called it the “All-In-One PC.“
Aside from its generic sounding name, the PC itself is a somewhat decent offering, of course its not any HP TouchSmart or iMac killer. Retailing for $1,249 the All-In-One PC features a 22-inch display with a 2.4GHz Intel E4600 Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, nVidia GeForce 8400 graphics card and is running Windows Vista Home Premium.
The Averatec All-In-One PC will be available at Averatec online and also at “major online resellers.“ Although the official retail price is $1,249, it is currently listed as being on sale at Averatec online for $1,199, no word on how long that price will remain though.

Averatec rolls out all-in-one desktop PC
This one’s going to send a lot of Apple fanboys aflutter, saying “Copycat!“ “Imitation!“ and “Unoriginal!“ But let’s face it, is it truly possible to create an all-in-one PC that doesn’t remind one of the Apple iMac? I mean, really? But before you answer that, let me just go ahead and list out this baby’s features, and hopefully shed some light on even just a few readers.
This all-in-one single body PC is from Averatec, and it features no less than a full-size keyboard, mouse, and of course, that single black slab of metal and plastic that houses the CPU, monitor, and other computer innards. The screen is a 22-inch 1680x1050p WSXGA+ HD display that hides an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, a 320GB hard drive, 2GB DDR2 SDRAM (expandable to 4GB) and nVidia GeForce graphics behind it. It has a built-in 1.3-megapixel camera, 4-in-1 card reader and DVD/CD writer for some multimedia good times. Windows Vista Home Premium is also preloaded with the thing, to further wash away beliefs that this is an iMac-clone.
Unfortunately, the price point couldn’t get any closer to the iMac, at $1,299. Watch out for it’s appearance in your favorite local/online stores next month.

RelatedAveratec updates the Voya 4473, 6494 rugged notebooks

Averatec has updated its Voya semi-rugged laptop line with two new models that offer the same rugged features and the drop-and-vibration-resistant internal components of the previously released Voya 2757 notebook, except of course for the bigger screen and some added power. These new laptops are the 14-inch Voya 4473 and the 15.4-inch Voya 6494.
To fully support the durable features both 4473 and 6494 are made from the magnesium alloy materials which is typically found in Averatec’s other laptops. For additional durability, the laptops designs were complemented by corner bumpers and anti-shock mounted hard drives.
Averatec releases the 2575, a 12-inch ultra-portable

Averatec has released the 2575 12-inch notebook which is the newest addition to Averatec’s line-up of ultra portable consumer machines. With this latest offering, Averatec has integrated design and functionality with the hopes of attracting consumers interests, which could be difficult, especially with the slew of new notebooks hitting the market lately.
So, does the Averatec 2575 have anything new to offer to the ultra-portable notebook market? Depends on what your needs are and what you are looking for in portable computing machine. In addition to the “contemporary design” the Averatec 2575 comes pre-installed with Vista Home Premium and features an AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core chip, 2GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive, ATI RS690 integrated graphics, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and a 4-1 card reader. The 12.1-inch display sports a 1280 x 800 native resolution with AveraBrite Technology. All things considered its seems to be a good alternative, especially with the $1,100 price tag.
