Motorola EM30 gains FCC approval

by Robert Nelson on May 24, 2008 at 03:06 PM

Motorola EM30

Sporting a very similar look as the current MOTOROKR E8, the EM30 has landed at the FCC and received their approval. The most notable difference between the EM30 and E8 is the navigation pad, the EM30 uses a D-pad as opposed to the omega wheel navigation. The Motorola EM30 is your basic looking candybar style handset, however it does offer some nice features, which includes the keypad, it changes layout based on the current application in use. The EM30 also includes a 2-inch display, 2-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack, FM radio, microSD card slot and takes advantage of Motorola’s Crystal Talk technology. Currently the launch information and pricing remains a mystery, however we will keep you updated when it becomes available.

Asus P320 Smartphone FCC Image

While we saw Asus first unveil the P320 a little over a month ago during CeBIT it still offers a little satisfaction to see it receive the official approval from the FCC. Sadly we are still awaiting further word on availability and price, but at least we know its coming.

The P320 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional based smartphone and will feature a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, GPS, a 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, a microSD card slot for additional storage. Aside from a solid feature set, its not a bad looking phone either.

However, it seems the latest two month extension for the merger deadline was just was they needed. The Department of Justice has approved Sirius’s $5 billion buyout of XM Radio, however no information was given on just when the merger will officially take place.

According to the DOJ: “Evidence Does Not Establish that Combination of Satellite Radio Providers Would Substantially Reduce Competition”
