The uber-slick Samsung I870 has been seen in leaked images and now we get some spec info. What is hot about this phone? Plenty. What is not? This sweet phone looks to be a winner in Europe and Asia potentially but not the US. Awww.
Indeed, the details revealed by Boy Genius show a tri band GMS phone, omitting the 850 GSM and UMTS needed for US connectivity. So we will miss out. The specs found by BGR are:
* Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900), 2100 UMTS, 3.6Mbs HSDPA connectivity * Symbian 9.3 S60 3.2 OS * 2.3″ 260K color QVGA 240 × 320 pixel display * 3 megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera for video calls * FM radio with RDS * USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.0 * microSDHC support
The specs look good, the video calling camera is trick and the Symbian OS is all the rage overseas. The phone looks worthy of interest if you reside outside the US. Perhaps Samsung will offer a similar device in the US? We can hope.
