If you’re at work, out and about or just chillin’ at your neighbor’s, it’s pretty difficult to know if your home security system is going off. To solve that problem, NextAlarm today announced V-Notify, an automated Interactive Voice Response system that will immediately call a customer’s cell or business number and let them know something bad is going down. Customers can also log into their security system through NextAlarm.com or call into it from any phone to get the system status and, for those using the Alarm Broadband Network, change the system settings. For serious alarms, it can even cross-connect customers with their local police, fire department or paramedics. V-Notify comes standard in paid NextAlarm plans, which cost $5 per month for NextAlarm and $11.95 per month for Full Dispatch Monitoring. It’s not included in the Free NextAlarm Notify Plan, which is, uh, free. V-Notify sounds pretty similar to their existing E-Notify service except for the addition of a voice attendant, but let’s hope it’s a little better than a letter change and a lovely voice.
