On the Mac gaming site, Inside Mac Games, an adept reader may have stumbled upon something huge. For soccer (or football, whatever toots your horn) fans, at least.
While registering a copy of FIFA ‘08 in Windows, via Boot Camp on an Intel iMac, this IMG reader saw the words “FIFA 08 - PC & Mac” on the registration form. If anything, this strongly suggests, you guessed it, a Mac version of FIFA ‘08. This makes sense, as EA has just rekindled their gaming ventures onto the Mac platform, with six Mac versions of their games.
I for one am excited about this, being both a soccer and Mac fan. In fact, pictured above (kicking that horribly placed Apple-soccer ball that I conjured up) is one of my favorite players (hint: his name rhymes with Shmanye Shmooney). However, I hope that if this game is real, that it will run on a MacBook; the other EA Mac games don’t, as of yet.
No release date, as this is just a wild rumor at this point, but it should be out at least by the middle of next year, by which time FIFA ‘09 would be set to release.
