Dell has officially unveiled their latest gaming desktop, the XPS 630 which is intended to serve as a “mainstream gaming” machine. The XPS 630 features an Intel Core 2 processor, comes standard with 2GB RAM, a 320GB or larger hard drive, running Windows Vista Home Premium and either a single or dual nVidia GeForce 8800 GT 512MB2 graphics card, depending on your configuration.
Overall the reviews seem positive and the XPS 630 should make any gamer without an unlimited budget happy with the game experience. Let’s check out some of the reviews:
“Dell’s XPS 630 slots in between the multimedia XPS 420 and the ultra-gaming XPS 720. It’s a “mainstream gaming” PC—one that ultimately outshines the others in the field.”
“This serves as an important reminder: these systems aren’t intended for all-out performance freaks; they’re just supposed to bring the thrill and fun of 3D gaming to the masses who can’t shell out thousands of dollars to play the latest title at full-detail levels.”
“the XPS 630 is a well-tooled system that will bring you lots of enjoyment without breaking the bank.”
“It’s been a while since we’ve seen a complete performance system for less than $1500, and we simply couldn’t find another system to pit the XPS 630 against. But in addition to its respectable gaming performance, other components put the XPS 630 in the same performance league as our own reference system.”
Finally we have also found a video review courtesy of CNET. The XPS 630 is currently available and retails for $1,249 and higher depending on configuration.
