Possibly as a result of the Voodoo PC buyout, the laptop pictured above will be HP’s first true gaming laptop. Sporting a 20 inch display, the notebook is hardly portable, being that wide and weighing in at 12 pounds. A handle might ease the pain of lugging such a large, valuable item.
However, the features this monster sports will make any gamer carry this wherever they go. HP will most likely go Core 2 Duo (Santa Rosa) with the processor, clocking out at 2.4ghz. They may also choose to use Core 2 Extreme which start at 2.6ghz, though the price will be affected accordingly. A powerful video chipset is eminent, and will probably be from NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce Go 8000 series. An HD-DVD drive, HDMI output, and integrated webcam might be included in an options checklist.
No release date has been set, but these pictures do look mighty good, and Intel’s Santa Rosa will be launched soon, so use your discretion as when to drop a few grand on something.
In case you were wondering, from the pictures above, this beast also has a dockable media remote.
