Details on iPhone Apps

Jobs cleared some things up for us today at the WWDC.  We shouldn’t fret our minds about 3rd party applications; they will be there, just in the non-app form of Ajax scripts.  What?

Yes, the iPhone will be open (closed) to 3rd party applications through the Safari web browser.  You can run things like Salesforce.com or Gmail.  Great applications that don’t reside locally.  You really don’t want to muck up your local files with God-knows-what, do you?

This isn’t really the selling point I was hoping to learn about today.  Though we did get a time on the 29th: 6pm.
